Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

And where is the problem with that? I don't want a kiwi. Enough flightless birds from Oceania already: We got the Cassowary and the Emu.
I rather wish for more animals to complete the South American roster
We never had two consecutive animal packs come after another.

I don't think scenery-animal-animal-scenery is out of the question.
Then why didn’t it happen sooner?

...I think the only reason that Frontier would go scenery-animal-animal-scenery in a year is if the free update included a lot of new features (that incorporated building pieces) and the animal pack was a total banger that utilized those features.

The only possible example I can think of would be birds. But even that feels like a stretch, TBH...

It's particularly important now, considering how poorly the Arid Animal pack was perceived by the general player base. A strong scenery pack with a theme and scenery items people are really excited about and a strong selection of habitat animals is pretty critical for this next pack, IMHO. It could really change the "temperature" on the videos created by content creators, etc.
Exactly, we need a stronger pack to revive the community and get it excited again from the Arid Animal pack that left quite a few of us disappointed in some way. Scenery Packs are always spot on and deliver.

Also I was editing a speculation video and wanted to post these, just because:

It's tricky, because folks are clearly still quite invested in the game and hopeful about the new content. This thread is evidence enough of that for me! But I've also seen takes from prominent content creators implying the game's development is slowing down, and while that's true, I think that's been extrapolated into the general player base with folks assuming the remaining packs and free updates are going to resemble the Arid Animal pack (e.g., nothing particularly new or exciting as far as features go; animals that aren't particularly exciting).

And I don't really buy that. Not yet, anyway. I don't think they'll add some of the game-changing mechanics folks are clamoring for but I kinda refuse that they've come this far to let the game go out with a whimper and not try to futureproof it at least a little bit by adding more ways to customize things, y'know?

Maybe I'm too optimistic but I'm anticipating this next pack is gonna be a banger. Maybe it won't add new dynamics (e.g., flighted birds) but there's still plenty of hope for a strong animal roster and scenery items that create new options for customization and so on. Scenery packs have been their strongest suit for quite a while (though, honestly, I always find that I want more animals but that's another topic).

Yeah I think these last two packs will be good ones. If we do in fact get a North American style piece set with a temperate pack then I will be over the moon. I love building realisticly and modern, I wasnt too big of a fan of the pieces in the tropical pack for that reason but thats my own personal preference.

I agree that no big game changers will come now (unless they are saving up for free flying birds but thats a lost cause lets be honest) however I still think we can get a lot of exciting animals in the future. Even if frontier were to just do clone animals they could still push out like at least 5 more packs, you know how many ungulates, monitors, canines, pinnipeds frontier can make without changing a thing to the exsisting models? Theres still so much more they could add to this game, and I really dont want a PZ2, by the time we get 16 DLCs Ive spent over $200 on this game, I dont wanna just scrap it all and start again.
