The cargo loading system they've cobbled together to rush the Hull C out for sale is a complete farce as well. This is not looking good at all.
Too many place holder assets to count. Lots of things in there that just do nothing. Of course they did not show the main attraction (the ship transformation)... And even though, each map transition is bugged, every last one of them. Every door has an issue (you can see space or a black void) and every transition has a frame hitch and/or a black screen. See that control panel in the escape pod room ? They have not thought how it should work yet, and it shows. Also escape pods are place holders. Even the inventory storage trays are bugged and useless (besides, storing things on a ship in SC is a good way to lose these things..).
The boxes popping up in existence are a sad joke. Remember the very first versions when they had those small repair bots ? Why not using a small swarm of loading drones, done with a particle system... oh wait CiG cannot do particle system programming can they.
This ship should have been a main attraction as it's almost central to gameplay of space games (space trucking, basically) and it's another fail. Besides if they manage to get it on the main game, there's still no gameplay for it ! There's still no in game dynamic economy or even appropriate stocks just to load that size of cargo.
Trading with the Hull C is only available between the 4 main orbital stations and with only 4 commodities, 1 of which is completely worthless. You have to dock the ship, head to the ASOP terminal and store it, make your way to the admin office via the elevator, purchase the cargo...head back up to the ASOP terminal, recall the ship, undock...at which time, an automated cargo loading ATC is supposed to chime in assigning you a loading area...which doesn't always work meaning several manual calls to the cargo loading ATC to activate it. If it doesn't activate...you've just lost all your funds and the cargo you just bought.
Once the loading area is assigned, the ship has to remain absolutely stationary within the glowing green rectangle whilst the 32 SCU boxes magically and individually snap into place on the exended arms of the Hull C...which means powering down the ship completely to aleviate any drifting. Any movement of the ship, either voluntary or involuntary cancels the loading timer. Any ship flying within a certain distance of the loading area cancels the loading timer until such time the area is cleared. If the timer (set to 2 mins) is interrupted enough times, the entire loading/unloading process is cancelled and the Hull C owner loses all funds used to buy the cargo plus the actual cargo itself.
As for profit margins? You can make a maximum of around 2200 aUEC profit from each load of 4800 SCU trading in either food, iron or hydrogen..scrap can't be traded between the orbital stations and waste has exactly the same buy/sell price everywhere making a loss when fuelling and repairs are included in the transaction.
As an example of how cobbled together this farcical cargo 'refactor' is for the Hull C, using a C2, I can ship 650 SCU of beryl to either Lorville or area 18 and make well over 3500aUEC profit for each run.
Complete and utter farce
