Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

What really amuses me is that SC evangelists repeatedly compared it to a game that:
  • Is nearly ten years old
  • Has about 7% of its budget IIRC
  • Has been fading towards adequacy since 2015

And it still comes across as the poorer relation to anyone who can see lightning and gear thunder.

And, mind you, those same proud ding-dongs will parrot everywhere in their sub that they don't make comparaisons, nor at all dunk on [game perceived as threat] while doing so at the same time in another post

SC is already released though. And it does not have much to do with how you feel about it, it is CIG who stated SC is already released. Suggest you talk to them in case you have any doubts?

Also, don't forget, when its being praised its the best game in the world, better than any other AAAAAA game out there, but the moment its criticized, you can't criticize it, because its not released, its still an alpha!

I am confused, why didn't the ship blow up?
Simple: it doesn't really exist, it's just a finite number of vertices connected to each others to form faces that are drawn on screen using several techniques. While in Star Citizen everything really exists on a molecular level in the verse which is a real physical world Chris and his wavy hands are able to convey from his reality to yours on your screen. It's your fault if your ship explodes, you - and the Earth-1 reality - can't cope with the fidelity of the verse.

That is spectacular. SC is so much fun that around 80% of SC redditors barely play SC or only play it as a one off if there is a patch… And that is a sample in one of the more supportive and active communities concerning SC. Out there in the wild that ratio is probably much worst.

If both are compared it's because they are pretty similar for what their goal is (space multi sim).
Outside of SC and ED (NMS is not really a multi), there is not too much choice (DU is collapsing) and no other game like them has been announced.
