Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

I don't want American Black Bear, but when it comes to North America, that mean Wolverine probably has a good chance to get in the game at last, hopefully. This won't disappoint me if this next pack will have Wolverine in it.
You're better off waiting for December. If the theory holds true, the wolverine is a perfect contender to headline a 'Continental/Tundra Pack' come winter.

I feel like they’ll save it, even though we have gotten two top 10 meta animals in packs, I don’t think they would give us the top 2 animals at the same time. I think they’ll save it for a highlands pack in the winter and give us Tassie and the kiwi instead.

Yes, because it's probably going to be a Temperate Pack based on the evidence. I'd put it at a very high possibility. That wasn't what we were talking about, though.
Well, it kinda was since the questions were why people jumped to the conclusion of NA centered Temperate Pack.

I wouldn't call the Climate Map evidence, a pattern of clues at best. With that said, since how little we actually know, it's the only clues we've got so it's absolutely likely. Harder to say if it's going to be NA centered or not, but I guess there's gotta be at least one NA species in it.

No it wasn't. The question was why people think a Temperate Pack will be North America centred.
a pattern of clues at best.
That is what we call 'evidence', my guy.

Anyway, we aren't detectives, we make do with what we've got, and right now, "Tropical" and "Arid" together point to the Koppen map. If "Arid" was "Desert", then the theory would be weaker, because it would point to a continuation of in-game biomes, but the choice of "Arid" for the pack's title is conspicuous given that it follows "Tropical". This is literally the strongest theory I've actually ever encountered for predicting DLC since the game launch.

Doesn't mean it's assured, nothing ever is, but even so. I'd bet on it, if there was a pool.

It wasn't put in that way, but that makes sense.

That's not the definition of evidence, but the rest I completely agree with. Will be interesting to see what they "shake" and are "mixing" during the livestream if this is the theme we are getting.

Clues = evidence. If you're investigating a murder a bloody footprint is both a clue and evidence.

A clue pointing towards a hypothesis in a scientific experiment is evidence that the hypothesis is correct.

I get your examples but they doesn't really work in our context. Here i think it's more like clues = leads and evidence = proof. The two most recent DLC's have followed the Climate map, that's a clue/lead that Frontier potentially could continue that pattern, but it's not evidence/proof that they will.

Yeah that's how it works here. When we get people asking for evidence, they are asking for official information that frontier has provided us. Best example is hints in a special livestream or a social media post as evidence this is the next pack. Picking up hints on the trend of dlc releases is not evidence because frontier can immediately switch patterns half way through the year.

Yeah, that's more in line with my definition of the two words but we probably shouldn't hang up on that since it doesn't really have that much to do with the DLC.

"Someone doesn't agree with my wishlist choice, they're a hater!"

There's no "hate". That's just melodramatic.
I don't think you understood what I was trying to say. While some people just don't agree, there is, in fact, hate towards it. Many people have stated that it's a "wasted slot", a useless animal. They aren't simply saying: I just don't like it. Then they talk about how bad a black bear would be.
My point was that the instant it's brought up, it gets shot down. I know that the spectacled bear is also asked for, but seriously, y'all, if we can accept the blue wildebeest, why not the American black bear? It just seems contradictory to what many comments here are saying

While I agree that temperate is probably the most likely pack, I’d rate it a loooong way from certain - at best I’d give it a 33% chance if being correct…. Possible packs with significant possibilities (% chances solely my vague guess based on virtually nothing) are (imo, and probably leaving something out):

Temperate: (20%)
Islands (15%)
Highlands (15%)
Something non-biome related - like conservation was (%15)
Birds (10%)
Children / petting (10%)
Arboreal (5%)
Something else not on this list (%10)

So, to sum up, I don’t know and I don’t think anyone else does either (outside Frintier, obviously)

Edit: most of the ‘evidence’ I’ve seen has been about as convincing as reading tea leaves.

As much as I'd love the wolverine first, this would be okay with me. I'm kind of feeling like as long as we get either the Tasmanian Devil, Wolverine, or flying birds I'll be very happy. I don't foresee the last happening but I really like feel if it's not birds or marine animals, we're going to see either the Tassie or Wolverine in this pack, and the other in the Winter pack.
