A bit of that, but even excluding that, very few NA zoos exhibit them to the public, and where they're held they're almost always ambassador animals. They also have extremely short lifespans, though I play with death off so that's not an issue for me personally.

Same, couldnt even say if different species have differen lifespans in PZ lol

They look like scary rats, but I know they aren't that bad in real life. I just don't think they'd be a great addition to the game. North America already has quite a few backyard buddies (skunk, red fox, armadillo, raccoon) and small mammals (previously listed + prairie dog, beaver, arctic fox, probable wolverine?, probable sea otter?) If we get another obscurely requested, small backyard buddy, I would prefer the porcupine, whose cuteness factor gives it a pass for me, or especially something from the Sonoran desert like a climbing fox or ringtail. Also, with Australia missing so many basics (bilby, quokka, brushtail possum, etc.) for their small marsupials, it would seem odd to get ours first. Europe could also use a backyard buddy or two, and I'd rather not get started on another rant about SA. I don't have anything against NA's small mammal roster except the raccoon, but I'm happy for those that wanted it. I think we've accumulated enough of that sort of thing.

My dream pack:
  1. Tasmanian Devil
  2. North Island Brown Kiwi
  3. Some European animal (Wolverine, bison, mute swan, wild boar, red squirrel)
  4. A North American bird (preferably a duck, but burrowing owl or wild Turkey is fine)
  5. Exhibit: anything really, but I would prefer another European animal. Maybe a stag beetle, tree frog, or legless lizard. Preferably I could get a flying bird in the WTE
My nightmare pack:
  1. Only NA animals
  2. Pack of mostly ungulates again
  3. No birds
It won’t take me much to be happy tbh, and I wouldn’t mind Frontier giving me a huge surprise!

I actually think they would be a nice addition. Not top prio for me, but would add something more interessting than another deer, bear or something.

I agree on that other places miss small critters, but i mainly talked about the opossum in regards to adding a temperate NA animal

Not the case, for me at least

I love Raccoon and Skunk, would love to see Porcupine and Turkey make it eventually. But those three, along with Prairie Dog, can be found all over Euroepan zoos (again at least the ones I visited) and all three of them have some unique visual gimmick that makes them interesting.

Opossum is unique, taxonomy - wise, but it just looks like a rat. But again as I said, one pick just cannot be mightmare, it's the pick against the roster.

Dream:

American black bear (with all the color variants)
Eurasian wild boar
Pine martin
Any duck or pheasant or turkey
Exhibit - goldfish/koi

Nightmare:

Tassie
Kiwi
Japanese Serrow
Tanuki
Exhibit - Lord Howe Stick Insect

I don't dislike any of the nightmare animals. In fact there are some I really want, but they should come in an island pack. If they showed up in a woodlands pack it would be, to me, a repeat of the tropical pack without any South American monkeys.

But then again there isnt anything rat like in PZ so it would be still visually unique

I really hope this next pack is like 2021 with us getting back to back foxes, although this time we get back to back porcupines. I would happily change my roster to:

Tasmanian Devil
American Black Bear
North Island Brown Kiwi
North American Porcupine
Some type of turtle (E)

Perfect balance of Oceania and NA which seem to be the most popular ones right now, however Europe wouldn’t have representation, I wish I could swap the bear for a boar, but it’s not likely :(

That's actually a good idea, hyrax + devil + opossum is a great selection.
And the pack is globally diverse - Africa/North America/Oceania/South America

Make it so Frontier! It's not the most exciting pack aside from the Tassie but it's also not particularly boring either. The theme would be something no one could predict (except I would have predicted it)
