Woodlands/Temperate Dream and Nightmare Packs

Squirrels have zero…if not negative appeal to me. They taunt my pups, and they get into the attics. During non-winter daytime I see them every time I’m walking the dogs, plotting to take over our yard one malicious chatter at a time.
I don’t want squirrels in game, but I still like them as backyard animals. I even feed them by putting up a bird feeder which at first was meant for the birds, but the squirrels use it more now lol. They are funny and interesting to watch.

Dream woodlands pack
1) Tasmanian devil
2) Wolverine
3) American back bear (or any bear)
4) Wild boar
5) European pond turtle

(I know that the wolverine will probably come in the winter dlc, but my dream would be having those animals together)

Nightmare woodlands pack
-American black bear
-North American river otter
-Wapiti
-North American porcupine
-Any North American exhibit

(So basically my nightmare would be getting only north American animals)

Dream Pack:
  • One European Animal (Preferably one of Red Squirrel, Beech Marten or Wild Boar)
  • One Oceanian Animal (Hopefully Tassi, Short beaked Echidna or Common Brushtailed Possum would be cool aswell)
  • One North American Animal (Fingers Crossed for the North American Porcupine, but mallard duck, wood duck, canada goose and wolverine also would be dope)
  • Either the Reevees Muntjac or Southern Pudu
  • Tuatara (Exhibit)

Nightmare Pack: North America Focus
  • American Black Bear
  • Coyote
  • White Tailed Deer
  • Kiwi (cause i still dont like it)
  • Something lame like idk another North American Frog for the exhibit

I might have no trust in frontier after the last two packs but the key to make a nice temperate scenery pack is to give us one animal per the 3 major continent for temperate animals and a small deer.
I dont exactly care what we get where, but i think we all agree that NA really should not get a 4. Pack for itself and even as a european id say that i rather get just one addition for more variety (eventhough 2 wouldnt hurt).
The nice part about temperate areas us that we allready got a fine selection in game, with NA being pretty complete but still open for some nice scraps every now and then, europe only really missing the squirrel, boar and a marten, which all can realisticly show up in other rather realistic packs like urban packs aswell and australia just needs something and the devil has been on the beench way to long allready.
The tuatara would also be quite neat to reuse the temperate exhibit for arguably new zealands second most important animal + we dont have much oceanian exhibits anyway so i much prefer that to something like a cottonmouth, even if those basic NA snakes are very common in zoos.
The small deers would finally the very much lacking small ungulate niche and i dont really care which one we get, as its one if the last asian niches thats left open with lots of support vs south american animal with allmost no support as its the only common zoo animal from temperate west coast south america.

But hey at this point i dont trust frontier enough to not do NA pack 4 after the first half of the year, so eh

My dream pack:
Tasmanian Devil
Kiwi
Eurasian Wild Boar
American or European Marten
North American Porcupine
Japanese Raccoon Dog
Japanese Serow
Exhibit or WT: I don't know. An owl?

I keep the Wolverine for a Highlands pack even though I'm not sure it fits.
I won't imagine a nightmare pack, I just can't.

Dream Woodland/Temperate Pack
Animals I would like to see in this pack:
  • Tasmanian Devil
  • Wolverine (Would be nice, likely for Highland Pack though)
  • Père David's Deer
  • Reeves's Muntjac Deer
  • Wild Boar
  • More Europeans animals (Wisent, European Wildcat, European Hedgehog, Pine Marten, Eurasian Brown Bear, etc)
  • South American animals that live in Temperate climate, some of them count as NA animals (Peccary, Bush Dog, Coati, etc) White-tailed Deer not included.
  • Don't mind what exhibit animal will be
Nightmare Woodland/Temperate Pack
Animals I don't want to see in this pack:
I'm happy for any animals, not North American animals especially American Black Bear and White-Tailed Deer. Of course, Wolverine is welcome (my most wanted animal, obviously), I don't mind North American Porcupine, but any other NA animals than these two is no no for me. SA animals that also live in NA range is fine.

My dream would be:
• North American Porcupine
• European Bison
• Eurasian Wild Boar
• Tasmanian Devil
• Alligator Snapping Turtle

The perfect mix of highly requested animals and obligatory clones. Gives representation to temperate Europe and Australia, which is desperately needed. Gives us a unique new exhibit box animal which is highly requested. And as a personal addition, gives me the European Bison (my most requested animal at the moment).

My nightmare scenario would be a pack with no European representation. That’s it… A pack that was purely North American animals would feel like a slap in the face. Any European representation is good, but two animals or more would be ideal. A pack WITHOUT ANY would be nightmare for me.

I’d love to have a Barbary Macaque in a pack like this too. Personally, I’d swap it for the Tasmanian Devil or North American Porcupine. But I know that would NOT be a popular decision, so I’d put it there as an alternate for the Wild Boar.

I'd be cool with a flying squirrel for the WTE though

That would really be cool

I will NOT tolerate any waterfowl slander

Dream pack (animal pack)
  • Tassie
  • NIB Kiwi
  • Reeve's muntjac
  • Wild boar / ABB / whatever popular clone animal
  • Virginia opossum
  • Mute swan
  • Patagonian mara
  • WE: kookaburras

Nightmare pack (scenery pack)
Wood cabin building theme (wow another wooden piece set amazing innit)
  • American black bear
  • White-tailed deer
  • Raccoon dog / Coyote
  • NA porcupine
  • EX: idk a lizard or something lol

Ok so, as a man quite satisfied with his common and cold roster my Dream Temperate lineup would be something a bit more exotic. Plus a Wild Turkey because I just find them neat:

1. Tasmanian Devil
2. Wild Turkey
3. Southern Pudu
4. Shorten Beaked Echidna
5. Multiple species of flying squirrels (WE) - Nacho hooked me

But there's bunch of more picks that could still make pack a Dream: Tree Porcupine, Muntjac, Marten species, Wild Boar, Swans, Ducks, Pheasants, Snapping Turtle, Frilled Lizard or a Tortoise for E...

Now what I would consider Nightmare would be number rather than specific species. I don't mind say White Tailed Deer in a pack, but I would mind pack full of similar animals.

Now I have nothing against "urban" NA animals as concept (I loved Twilight, I wish we get Turkey and Porcupine sometime, I wouldn't mind Black Bear). But I wouldn't like to see animals that are hard to find in zoos outside NA, and animals that are specifically American. So:

1. White Tailed Deer
2. Opossum
3. Coyote
4. Bobcat
5. A frog/toad, I think we're good there

And to end it, here's what I see as realistic, middle ground option:

1. Tasmanian Devil
2. Wild Turkey
3. Roosevelt Elk
4. Eastern Grey Kangaroo
5. Tuatara (E)

Dream pack (animal, winter 2023)
American black bear
Tasmanian devil
North Island brown kiwi
Reeve's muntjac
Wood duck
Black swan
Wisent
Sheltopusik (E)

Nightmare pack:
Virginia opossum
Coyote
Roe deer
Wild boar
American toad (E)

Seen the Opossum on couple peoples nightmare lists. Whats up with that? The usual backyard animal thing?
Its definetely among the most interesting NA animals for me.
Yeah it's one of the few remaining NA animals that is actually interesting to get. Might be too similar to the racoon, skunk or european badger for some.

Dream pack:

Virginia Opossum
North American Porcupine
Sandhill Crane
American Black Bear
Wild boar

Nightmare Pack:
Canadian Lynx
Racoon dog
European Bison
White-tailed deer
Mammals in the walk through exhibit
