Woodlands/Temperate Dream and Nightmare Packs

More like the possum of North America lol. Their litterally named the same thing because either act so similar.
. Both small carnivores/omnivores
. Both marsupials
. Both look like angry rats
. Both fill the Sam rough niche for different continents

Dream pack:
Mallard (ultimate waterfowl, better chance to get it)
Southern Pudu (small deer from SA, literally the best deer possible)
Taz/ Short-beaked echidna (Oceania representation)
Some arboreal animal as a bonus, preferably a coati or the North American Porcupine
Tuatara or Japanese giant salamander (Some neat stuff from temperated islands)

Nightmare
American Black bear
White tailed deer
Coyote
Some kind of small canid/feline
Stag beetle
I don't have any problem with NA fauna ( i would be very happy if they give us a turkey, elk, ringtail, roadrunner or a NA porcupine) but the ABB, WTD and coyote are just dull for me, about feline and canids i know i'm setting myself to disapointing in expecting then to not show up in a temperate pack, whoever none of the options seens good for me, so i really don't want any of them to come to the game.

Honestly the ones you mentioned (elk, turkey, roadrunner, ringtail, porcupine) are the NA animals i would be happy about in a temperate pack.

I don't hate NA fauna, there are still other animals i would like: black footed ferret, alligator snapping turtle, Big horn sheep, mountain goat, collared peccary, sage grouse, sea otter and of course the balde eagle.

Even the ABB for the sake of completion if it comes as anniversary gift

I feel targeted😭🤣
You're not being targeted, it's just a coincidence that you happen to want every North American species under the sun and I don't want any more at all. At most I'd accept the North American porcupine, but even then I'd prefer the Brazilian.

I just mentioned the ABB because it's been coming up a lot lately and the grey fox because you mention it so much it was at the top of my mind. It could have been the elk, or coyote, or any other North American woodland creature.

I understand US and Mexico people see opossums as backyward animals but like, we got the skunk AND the raccoon, and like, I find the opossum the most interesting out of the three because it is the only marsupial group outside Australia, also does the funny thing of faking death and hanging on its tail. That said I wouldn't be bummed if we don't get it because honestly I don't see much chances of it actually happening, but I definitely think it is way better than a coyote or whitetail lol

also look at this videooooo how can u not want em

they eet da bnana

Absolute dream scenery pack for a 'woodlands' theme:
  1. Yellow-throated marten
  2. Ocellated turkey
  3. Tasmanian devil
  4. A species of dry forest monkey (any, I barely care what species at this point - just make it something relatively common in captivity)
  5. Walkthrough exhibit for a similar selection of birds (either macaws, owls or woodpeckers)
If upgraded to an animal pack:
  1. Southern pudu
  2. Indian star tortoise
  3. Malagasy giant rat
Absolute nightmare woodlands pack:
  1. American black bear
  2. Coyote
  3. North American porcupine
  4. Eurasian wild boar
  5. Exhibit or walkthrough exhibit for something that doesn't exist in captivity
The main thing I really fear from a woodlands pack is that we will end up with another very dull-coloured pack, where every animal is either brown or black. Just give me at least something brightly-coloured please.

Here are mine. I really don't want European animals, personally, but I obviously understand there are players that do. We don't keep them in the U.S., so I naturally just don't really build for them, kind of how I don't build for the proboscis monkey or common wombat. The same goes for most North American animals, too. I really only want the black bear and river otter at this point, and to be honest, I want South American animals a lot more. I also didn't put any exhibit animals as I don't really have any strong feelings about them.

Dream Woodlands Pack:
1. North American Black Bear
2. Reeve's Muntjac
3. Tasmanian Devil
4. North Island Brown Kiwi

Nightmare Woodlands Pack:
1. Wild Boar
2. A Large Cervid
3. Tanuki
4. Coyote

Dream pack:
1. Tasmanian Devil
2. North Island Brown Kiwi
3. Patagonian Mara (I know, streching it a bit, but I really want more SA animals)
4. Reeves Muntjac

Nightmare pack:
1. Wild Boar
2. American Black Bear
3. Elk/White-tail Deer
4. Coyote
(To clarify, I would not be opposed to any of these animals if it were an animal pack, but in scenery pack, I think these would not be the best picks).

Oh dear you aint stretchin nothin, maras live in temperate grasslands so they are completely valid for a temperate pack

I suppose it would depend on whether they're going with the climate biomes (which I think they are, and in which case the mara would fit) or the in-game biomes (in which temperate grassland comes under 'Grassland', not 'Temperate', in which case the mara would not).

3. Patagonian Mara (I know, streching it a bit, but I really want more SA animals)
Is not stretching. They live in the pampas as well, which is temperate climate . I also included them and the rheas in my dream pack. They fit perfect a temperate theme.

Dream
  • Tanuki
  • White-tailed Deer
  • Common Pheasant
  • American Black Bear
Nightmare
  • European Bison
  • Eurasian Wolf
  • Canada Lynx
  • Patagonian Mara (not the best fit imo)

Dream pack
  • Gaur (I am a little unsure of what counts as woodland, so maybe another bovine specie would be more suitable for this scenario. I still need gaur to be added before dlc ends...)
  • Muntjac, Musk deer, or really just another unique looking small deer or antelope specie (would dik diks in a woodland pack be off?)
  • Peccary
  • Waterfowl
  • Some specie with plenty color morphs (especially if they also can be piebald). Not american black bear though :p
Nightmare pack
  • Basically any bear except sloth bear
  • Deer specie that doesn't fill a new niche in my zoo (although nightmare is to harsh, that would just be big a "meh" case for me)
  • NA centered pack (I loved the NA pack we got and wouldn't mind a couple more species from NA, but not a pack)
