Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

Hmmm… need to watch (obviously), but little penguins don’t particularly like rocky coastlines, they like sand.
But then they also made a big deal of the cocktail being blue. It all really depends on whether it turns out to be an Oceania pack or a Coastal / Islands pack. I've no idea but will be chuffed with either! The big question is what else is going to come with the free update and the scenery (if it is indeed a scenery pack - nothing is certain). They've been particularly secretive this time around.

Did you see the viewing domes and the orangutan brachiation? :)

Actually, I just came back from Tasmania and we went to the coast where little penguins frequent and it was a volcanic rock coastline with sand.

The penguins traverse the rocks and sand (edit, I added a photo of the area I took during the day to show what their zone looks like):)

I’d call those shores sandy beaches rather than rocky shores but I’m being a lot too picky and technical.

Before going to sleep, here my final guess:
Islands/Oceania/Whatever it is Pack
  • Tasmanian Devil (Headliner Animal)
  • Goodfellow's Tree Kangaroo
  • North Island Brown Kiwi
  • Pelican (Why not)
  • Rainbow Lorikeet WE
Unfortunately, I may won't be on time during DLC and update announcements, still excited for tomorrow for announcements!

Actually, you know what, that might just be. One of those big ones from Philippines or Indonesia. They have rig to reuse as well
I'm betting my money on it being fruit bat/flying fox. Don't believe the wiki that they mostly eat nectar, they are voracious when it comes to fruit trees here in Aus. They make a bee line to any mango or orange tree they see. We have to net our trees just to have any for ourselves.

If it's island pack which species would be the most suited for theme? I don't know my bats.

I can't believe it hasn't occurred to me earlier but it makes more sense than any other idea today even if maybe little parrots would be more exciting choice

There's this one:

Giant golden crowned flying fox

Apparently biggest bat there is. Don't know how rare are they in captivity.

Edit: Baryonix beat me to the name lol

Theres no oceanian bat in EAZA zoos and i got no clue for australian, but the rodriguez flying fox would be pretty nice.
Common in zoos, from an island near madagascar soooo close enough for a madagadcar area amd just super floofy ^^
