Fall DLC 2023 Speculation

So with our exhibit species confirmed, that's one more animal in this pack with literally 0 presence in US zoos. No spectacled flying foxes or quokka, and a single digit number of holders for the other three. I really wish Frontier could've picked just one animal that has a more notable western presence, be it an echidna, tree kangaroo, or black swan.

Also now that the penguin species is confirmed, this definitely limits our chances of every actually getting a rockhopper as our now fourth penguin, which was something I was always sort of hoping to see.

Full steam ahead for tree kangaroo in Highlands now, I guess.

Have to say am very impressed with the creative art direction that I'm seeing so far. Most people associate Oceania buildings and scenery with beaches and tropics but they managed to pull it off with temperate (including mostly temperate animals) in a really unexpected way that resonates.

Am also excited to see the new temperate biome for Oceania available in free update. A new map would be amazing.

I'm genuinely curious about our Oceanian members, but with this DLC, how do y'all feel about y'all's region? I know that NZ still needs the tuatara

I am pretty happy overall, I feel like I would need to see the echidna to feel realistically complete, but that's the only Australian animal I think of as "missing" now. Everything else I would like to see is just some thing I want, not something I think we need to represent out unique wildfire. I am not well versed in the rest of Oceanic wildife so I wont speak for those areas.

(And flighted birds but let's not go there)

Damn frontier managed to pick a species that has no recorded holdings in the EAZA ever
Is the Spectacled flying fox found in australian zoos?
Never the less im happy New Guinea got something in the oack
Not the most common species of flying fox in zoos here (that'd be grey-headed), but still kept in several places as other people have already pointed out. It at least gives us Aussie folks a realistic bat to use given the Egyptian fruit bat isn't kept here (you notice a pattern after a while lol).

Can't wait to see the tassie.

While I still really want an echidna, tree kangaroo and monitor lizard, I'm quite satisfied for now. This really was the boost the region needed and I am still struggling to believe it even happened.

hi , everyone. Since we get oceanic pack, do you think we will get South America animal in the future, may be next spring?
Definitely, Latin American architecture is a lucrative selling point easily. We got the Europe Pack (with European architecture), we will get a Latin America Scenery Pack. I'm guessing it will come in Q1 2024 after Q4 Highlands Animal Pack.
