Powerplay factions changes/reduction?

In relation to latest Gallner articles I'm littlebit curious for a real reasoning behind those related to Imperium. Article "Duvals Rally Around Imperial Mother" have on its end: "It’s worth remembering that the details of Lady Lavigny’s illness were never made public. Are her calls for unity prompted by thoughts of mortality? Perhaps time is of the essence if she seeks to make lasting changes to the House of Duval."

I never was much interested by PP (except needs related to some of PP modules), but this seems like possible indication that may be planned some bigger changes. What do you think about it?

With regards to PP I found this one a little odd. The imperial powers have always been kinda allied so far. Ever since the Treaty of Cartoi, which has been made in one of the very first cycles. So a "call for unity" now feels like "Hey FDev, you might have missed something during the last 8 years." Or it has nothing to do with PP and is purely lore, which seems more likely.

Not only Imperial... the powerplay players' groups who are "managing" those powers (using discord/trello/reddit and other external resources, given the total lack of them into the game) have built a sort of a well-known "cartel" named ZYADA (Zemina-Yuri-Arissa-Denton-Aisling). FDEVs/Galnet pursue their own lore/narrative and totally ignore what powerplay players/groups do in the game.

This is as it should be.
Player groups should never drive general gameplay, that's for Fdev to design the story as a large majority of players dont visit the forums, let alone dicsord etc.
I have huge respect for you Rebel and folks who organise PP groups, but us mere mortals (especially soloer's) need to be free to make our own decisions.
The one thing that Fdev got right is that a single player can make a difference in regards to fortification, balanced with the fact i really cant do any damage to your systems on my own.

I am really hoping for Fdev to put some love into PP and attract more players because its a wonderful part of the game which i enjoy when im in the bubble.

It's not only about reading forums, discords etc... besides we are all aware that the "powers" section in the game is poorly designed, some broad facts shouldn't be ignored as they are reported by the various menu/interface pages available in the game.

I mean, even leaving on the sideline who's behind those "broad facts" (solo players? big groups? etc) the turmoil and the subsequent collapse of several controlled bubbles belonging to one specific power, affecting billions of people living in hundreds of exploited systems, is a "relevant fact" from any absolute and objective point of view... and the game features what has happened (bubbles disappear, powerplay perks disappear, etc.).

So, I wonder why all those facts have been ignored while, on the other side, the lore/narrative of the game sometimes brings under players' attention [=GalNet -> CGs] some unrelevant situations, i.e. where in a remote system a local dictator turns to be a traitor and decides to revolt against the allies... affecting the lives of may be just a few thousands/millions of people and the politics of half a dozen planets.

Agree with what you're saying but put it this way, if you were not involved in powerplay you wouldnt know what was going on, systems changing hands, turmoil? you wouldnt have a scooby, probably wouldn't even know those systems exsisted, which is why Fdev are always gong to push the storyline and agenda's of the main powers.
Lets put it another way, even if i ran a huge group of Utopian PP supporters in this real life Fantasy, would I influence Pranav's ideas for the future? Probably not which comes back to Elites main draw in my opinon, we are all worthless, not hero's, just minows watching the great superpower opera unfold before us.

I see, but why leaving so much "power" to players then? It looks like that all players' effort is a waste of time...

The story goes completely unrelated to PP's evolution, which is unfortunate but when was the last time resources went even towards a single patch note line towards some PP fix/change? Sometimes it may look like it may have a connection, but that'll be just a coincidence. Other times it'll make no sense, having conflicting powers in control of the story area.

A recent example of conflict would be the Wallglass investigation on Zachary Rackham, a fully Federal matter. But it happens in Zeta Trianguli Australis, a system that for Powerplay is controlled by an Imperial Power (Aisling). If recognized, this would at least raise some eyebrows.
