Right, sorry the developers do not work for free so you can get the DLC…man, some of these comments…how can these people even survive in real world is beyond me.

From the sound of it yeah with fingers crossed lol. I mean Frontiers could still go till the fifth anniversary next year and give us birds to tie a ribbon with.

Saw someone in there that said that they don't even play the game anymore, said that the new update is only bug fixes (I guess they didn't read the whole announcement), and that the game was dead with no community or something similar to that.
No way, definitely going to scroll through comments on steam now for amusement
Unfortunately Internet and especially comment sections often are toxic places where some (Not all) people just want to Troll and offend people, Games, Things and so on. And on Internet it is Just easy because of anonymous texting. "Some people just want to watch the world burn" from Michael Caine in Dark Knight describes IT very good in my opinion. I mean you can be unhappy with a Pack but it should be written in a objective and not aggressive way. And If you are unhappy about a Game support over a longer Period I Just do Not understand why people do not just quit buying further content and let enjoy the rest of the Players the further content. You cannot please everybody and hopefully the harsh comments ( I do Not mean the negative ones written in a objective and normal way) are just seen as it what they are. Trolling attempts to just provocate counter reactions. Happily enough the Forum and our Community stays nearly always civilized

Nothing confirmed on 2024 yet. So far, what they said is a confirmation of what they said last year, where they said PDLC throughout 2023.
Due to the FY24 ending in May 2024 and Easter being the 31 of March, another Spring DLC is not completely out of the question, as that is still covered in the statement provided in the report:
However, comparing it to the last Annual Results, Planet Zoo is mentioned significantly less ( a trend that started last year) and there are not one but two games planned within the genre that PZ is in.
First off all don’t get me wrong because I think that this new pack is just gorgeous but for me personally the animal choices seems a little bit off. Which is not a bad thing at all because I think that it means that we can still count on obscure and super rare species in the future packs.
After never ending discussions about the Arid pack where people were not happy at all that animals came from the same region I’m just shocked how happy they are now with this very specific regional pack containing animals that are kept mostly by the zoos from that region.

The easy explanation is that this Pack was planned before Arid animal pack. Work for a new Pack does Not start after Release of the Pack before. It surely Starts earlier. And to bring in my Personal View. I had nothing against the arid animal Pack. I Just would have named it different.
Maybe because is not 70% ungulates and from an overrepresented continent. Also the name of the pack made it feel like that was our desert pack SO it was frustrating that was focused just on African desert. I still like every animal in the Arid pack individually though.
I think part of it at least is the pack name specifically targets oceania which is a more limited region for animal choices. When a very popular community choice of the arid biome comes to play in a similar region specific format, people have much much larger expectations of what should and shouldn't be included.
There's a big difference: Arid Pack was a biome pack, while Oceania Pack is a region pack. Nobody complained that the Africa pack was only African animals. If the Oceania pack was an Islands pack, then we could complain that all the islands were from the same region, but it's an Oceania pack, so it makes sense.
I don’t really find these obscure picks. You’ve got the two highly requested animals, kiwi and devil, little penguin is also highly requested, quokka as the meme animal which seems to have become a trend lately, then the flying fox is just because they didn’t have time to do birds and they saw how people were upset with the last pack having an exhibit animal so they fixed both problems. I don’t think by not including animals like echidna or tree kangaroo, that means we’ll get them later on.
And honestly the weird echidna and the tree kangaroo are more obscure to general audience than a penguin, a bat and a kind of wallaby thingy.
I don't get that. And I'm not questioning whether or not people would complain, I know they would.
Why does it matter what the pack is called when it brings representation that majority of community agreed was lacking? Like if we needed more Oceanian animals, why should it matter if it's called Oceania, Islands or DLC pack number 15?
Name shouldn't dictate the content, it should be the other way around. Like would people still complain if Tropical Pack consisted purely of SA species while still being called Tropical pack?
