I am pretty sure we'll get flying birds one day. I'm sure the people at Frontier want to make them just as spectacular as the animals we have now with all of the behaviors that have been added. They're probably still experimenting with new technology for the right animation, rigging, etc. I don't think any of us would want birds where they'd just be in a loop of perching and flying and no special behavior like social interacting.

I don't think any of the animals I really want are all that likely.
Semi-Likely: Hamadryas baboon (by virtue of being high on the wishlist).
Unlikely: Tuatara (exhibit), serval.
Very unlikely: Squirrel monkey, Geoffroy's spider monkey (Frontier hates monkeys).
No chance: Flying birds, Sumatran tiger.

A lot of people have been absolutely fine with that idea since the WTE was added to the game. Janky AI-driven navigation around a dodgily-calculated airspace sounds infinitely worse than clean loops in a predefined box. Look how glitchy deep-diving is (and how one-note; there's barely anything except "move forward" in terms of underwater behaviours).
Considering we got two birds in one pack, I think the odds I finally get some waterfowl are pretty good!
The wolverine is very likely because it can fit in:

Since when have they said they hate monkeys? I've heard this mentioned before on here, but it seems ridiculous to exclude one group of animals. Sure, there are some I'm not interested in, and some are not big in captivity like uakari.
It's just a meme. The game is sorely lacking in monkeys, especially New World monkeys, and of that group we have exactly one. They've also missed a few opportunities to add more when they should have been prioritised over other animals (because every zoo has monkeys).

Poor africans australians and south east asians who got so much of their roadkill in the game, how they must feel
I don't have such Weaknesses because I don't have a Car
my animals, I’m not certain how they would appear in future dlcs.
After Arid dlc, I lost hope that some desert animals I’ve wanted are lost unless put into a miscellaneous type of dlc. I had hoped for a world wide desert dlc (I know the porcupine and cat are found off of Africa). Uncertain how peccaries, roadrunners, Perentie, barbary macaque and Hamadrays baboon can fit in.
Animals I still want from NA. The best way for them to make it would have to be inclusion in biome dlcs such as temperate and taiga dlcs if we can expect ABB, wolverines, elk etc. Like I said above that desert NA animals had a chance and I’m not sure how they can be placed at this rate.
It would seem a greater whole of SA animal pack would help to satisfy SA everyone to give us howler monkeys, Andean bears, peccaries, alpacas, Rheas southern fur seals and whatever.
There’s only a handful of African animals I still want and they are not hoofstock. Secretary birds, baboons, geladas are all I really still want from Africa. With how dlc has been, these animals likely would likely fit into a miscellaneous dlc.
When it comes to my Eu animals, they mostly could be combined into a northern dlc that includes north Asian and American. Wisents, walrus, capercaillie, jackals.
India, I’d like a dedicated Indian animal dlc to cover my blackbuck, golden jackals, sloth bear, cobras.
When it comes to Asia
I am mostly done with SEA and want northern Asia to get attention. Tanuki a markhor, takins and koi ponds are what I’m looking for, this would mean a dedicated north Asian dlc or a miscellaneous dlc.
Finally when it comes to Australian animals I want. I’d like Perenties, lyrebirds and tree kangaroos. I’d like a type of southern fur seal but I see that they don’t share the same range. Other than these animals, I feel Australia is complete. I know there’s others like the echidnas that could make it but I think Australias got the rep they need after the latest dlc.

I had an idea pop into my head while playing anno1800, a Worlds fair dlc that is a build dlc with new vendors, ribbons, flags, perhaps a music pavilion and 5 animals that are found in very different places from each other.
