Yeah and THX 1138 was directed and partly written by George Lucas so I am guessing there was less copyright guff involved in getting it into one of the other movies he was directing so it's hardly the same thing at all.
From the singular aspect you are focusing on, you are correct and I would definitely agree, but my point was more along the lines of the small nod that doesn't really change anything about the game (movie) as long as all parties are cool with it being included, and without having to go through heavy licensing hurdles angle of it. I don't even have a dragon in the race as I've not read the books at all, just thought it would be kind of cool and show some support for it. I was responding to the point in relation to lore purity by suggesting that the THX 1138 was an example of intermixing of lore, and of course there are more nods in the Star Wars movies to many other things than that.
We have nods to many writers and other notable and famous figures in the game with stations named after them....which of course isn't a copyright issue at all because the names of these people aren't subject to copyright (although it would only be polite to ask before doing so), and I think that's the best way to go.
For sure, I wasn't trying to suggest that it would be done any other way.
Anyhow, even when it comes to lore, it's possible to imagine that some great explorer, not unlike Jed Munoz (the galaxy's
<ahem> greatest explorer), came upon a system that fit the bill and decided to name it thus with first naming rights. I mean, how many people are currently out exploring the elite galaxy looking for a Tatooine replica?
