Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

We have a new front end patch! But we have no idea if it works so it will be optional. :D

Yeah it's like a balloon, the thruster push it up off the ground, but when the thrusters turn horizontal it still stays floating off the ground, remarkable, oh all the other stuff of course, this is just standard SC!
What I like about this is the engines are thrusting up, clearly meant to help with take-off, yet when they go horizontal, the ship doesn't fall or even wobble. Basically there is no apparent reason for those engines to rotate in the first place.

Yup, that was the obvious one, but there was so much more physics face-palming badness there as well. If I had those devs in a room, I'd feel compelled to explain everything to them step by step, in basic high-school physics fashion. My engineer's brain just couldn't keep quiet.

But the most interesting part was that I didn't see any user comments about that aspect. Do SC fans have no concept of basic kinematics? Even intuitively, does it not seem completely wrong to them?

Even where they were positioned and pointing was wrong for lift, it would just tilt its rear end into the air and point at the ground.

Edit: had to remove that stray apostrophe that crept in......oh dear!
