SDP as rewards for digital espionage missions

The other day I noticed a digital espionage mission to download an SDP. I thought the only way to get them was at the crashed skimmers POIs, but since then I've picked up 7 of them in a few days..

Was this always there, or did Frontier make it easier to pick them up in one of the latest updates?

It's been there for ages. If you have the mission then a friend can also farm as many as they like through multi instances as long as you haven't taken it yet.

Cool, much better way than relogging at a POI, and not at all as impossible as I've read in the past on the forums. I'll have collected my 15 in another couple of days.

For anyone needing SDPs, check the procurement mission board for digital espionage and you'll occasionally find them. Go to the settlement, download the SDP and abort the mission. As long as you manage to download it, you can otherwise die or fail a covert mission, you'll have the SDP in your inventory.

After you've unlocked the engineer what good are they? Other than selling, of course.

AFAIK, no good expect for the unlock and possibly for selling to other commander.

Ok thanks. I sold some yesterday. I don't need that engineer but if I ever decide I want to unlock them I know how to get them.
