No more 'different' than the red deer was to the reindeer or fallow deer. While I would love to get rheas I think they are just too different to be the anniversary animal, but well we can always hope right.

Why offer a red deer for free when there's demand and money and oh wait-I definitely think it’s a clone or animal that has decor in game. I highly doubt anything that is truly unique simply because frontier as a business would lose money on such animal. Why offer a Andean bear for free when there’s demand and money that could be made from it. Just a example. I think the previous two yrs have proven this. White and black lemur a clone with edits which most clones are. And the red deer which coincidentally had decor in game since the base game.
I mean there is quite the difference between the wing posture, so to make the rhea look like on the right they would have to make some quite heavy animation changes on the wings of the ostrich (reminder each feather is linked to a bone), that already breaks the number 1 rule for anniversary animals. No more 'different' than the red deer was to the reindeer or fallow deer.
There are no "rules" for anniversary animals. It's just extrapolation you've made up. The black and white ruffed lemur also has sounds that are new compared to both previous lemurs so I don't know why you've insisted on "new sounds" being one of your made-up rules. Anyway, they made a crane out of the flamingo and barely changed anything, so I doubt they'll be super picky about an ostrich clone (especially since there are the cassowary, emu, and kiwi as well).I mean there is quite the difference between the wing posture, so to make the rhea look like on the right they would have to make some quite heavy animation changes on the wings of the ostrich (reminder each feather is linked to a bone), that already breaks the number 1 rule for anniversary animals.
I would love that even more than Tanuki.I want my Gray Fox!
(This would likely need a bunch of new animations though because it can climb)
Good Point!I’m partial to the flamingo, if we have two tortoises in base game to pick I would like two flamingos.
Prolly tiki chiki or a new brand.Only a few weeks, y'all. Soon we'll get our see the 4th anniversary and 3rd update/gift.
I've noticed that, besides a free animal, we tend to get an update regarding shops...
1st gift: black-and-white ruffed lemur & Bernie's Bakes cupcake shop
2nd gift: red deer & new balloons for Loony Bloons
I thought so, too. It'd go hand in hand with the Polynesian theme.Prolly tiki chiki or a new brand.
What I hope for the most is African leopard. After that, my next hopes will be Masai giraffe, American flamingo, squirrel monkey and wild boar. The anniversary is coming in the blink of an eye peeps, so why not making some sort of poll to see what is the more likely species you expect for it? I am going to make a poll with a what the community considers to be the most likely animals following the current anniversary animal criteria:
Okay so that said let's see the likely contenders:
- the anniversary animal is bound to be a clone this means that
- 1. the animal doesn't use a new rig
- 2. the animal doesn't have new sounds (I think this is a safe assumption since the red deer)
- it is an animal that is requested in the meta wishlist

1. African Spurred tortoise. The most requested tortoise species, the largest continental tortoise.

2. American black bear. A really easy addition whose charm relies mostly on the numerous colour morphs it has, aside of its representation as part of the North American fauna.

3. Spectacled bear. A common pick for highlands, but still a valid anniversary animal too, this south american bear stands as the most requested bear species.

4. Raccoon dog. Often requested by canid fans, it does not really bring anything new to the roster because it is pretty much a fox with thick puffy fur but I think it would be ok as an anniversary animal.

5. Nile crocodile. I do like Nile crocodiles, and they would be fairly easy to add, more reptiles are always welcome.

6. Wild boar. While I think its addition as anniversary is unlikely because it would be the second European animal added in a row... why not right? It's just another pig after all.

7. Tufted capcuhin / Squirrel monkey. Monke.

8. North American river otter. Another otter, fairly easy clone, fairly popular too.

9. Alpaca. People want yet another south american camelid for some reason. The alpaca is the most requested one.

10. American flamingo. It's like the greater flamingo but red. Has points because it's a bird.
Cannot attach more files :'''(
11. Blackbuck. Super requested animal, super easy to add, too, honestly I would love to get it.
12. Wisent. Another European clony animal, kind of like the wild boar, but less requested.
13. Masai giraffe / Grevy's zebra / African leopard. African reskins, do really people prefer these to a better quality animal? This feels like a step backwards from the red deer tbh
14. Coyote/Jackal. lol I mean, sure I guess.
15. Ocelot. I had forgot about this one. The ocelot would definitely be a good Anniversary animal.
16. Bighorn sheep. Would be kinda funny if this was the Anniversary animal, basically an improvement over the dall sheep.
So that would be all, if I didn't include other picks it's possibly because they would require new animations or new sounds (this includes both the rhea and the grey crowned crane, sorry), which one would you like to see the most?
Zoo guidebooks are relatively common in Europe at least until recently. In the last decade or so many zoos have stopped publishing them sadly.I want a new gift shop, like one with toys or books. Only the National Zoo in DC did this, but they had a book about their zoo in the shops. I wish more zoos did that.
And that is so weird to me, many zoos custom make signs for their animals. Full of factoids and information. Put that in a book form for all the animals, add some zoo history, what it’s like taking care of the animals, and some veterinary trivia and you got a great book for me personally. I would love to look at a zoo’s roster and learn about their animals from my own bookshelf at home.Zoo guidebooks are relatively common in Europe at least until recently. Most zoos in NZ have bookshelves in their gift shops. Not for zoo guide books, mind, but rather for animal and zoo-themed children's books. I like the idea in any case, a book shop would be neat.I want a new gift shop, like one with toys or books. Only the National Zoo in DC did this, but they had a book about their zoo in the shops. I'm still hoping for a proper gift shop facility like the restaurant, but instead of linking tables to the box, you link gift stands (clothing racks, bookshelf, plushy stands, and so on). So guests would browse, go to the counter, then leave. Too big a feature for the anniversary but maybe they'll do it as part of a main update or something. And a bookshop could have an educational boost as well...not for a specific species but just in general. Or as part of a gift shop (plushes!!) would be great too. I could see something like the first for part of the anniversary.

That’s a great idea. Hopefully there’s still time in the games cycle to make the effort for this worthwhile. Practically all zoos I’ve been to have some type of shop or kiosk, even the smaller zoosI'm still hoping for a proper gift shop facility like the restaurant, but instead of linking tables to the box, you link gift stands (clothing racks, bookshelf, plushy stands, and so on).
