They are 7 years late because they have tried to write the same game 20 times so far. This con shows the latest attempt.

You're quite a recent backer aren't you? (relatively, for a project going for a decade)

I sometimes think you think all of this is new, so they deserve the benefit of the doubt. But it's not new. It just repeats, with nicer graphics.

Where has he been for the last 11 years? Its all (rubbish), its all smoke and mirrors, and very little of what CIG show off at the cons appear in the coming year.

Sunk cost, both emotional and financial. I wish he'd do something else really.

I dunno, I think I’m a little disappointed though with this citcon; yes, yet again it’s same old same old, but they’ve improved at the mechanisations of it - the one pipeline that has really improved is their taking money off people using old psychological tricks, and there were definitely less screw ups than previous citcon brainwashes; less firm promises and more cleverly designed word salads.

I dunno, I think I’m a little disappointed though with this citcon; yes, yet again it’s same old same old, but they’ve improved at the mechanisations of it - the one pipeline that has really improved is their taking money off people using old psychological tricks, and there were definitely less screw ups than previous citcon brainwashes; less firm promises and more cleverly designed word salads.

The word salading this year was especially egregious. I felt like I was watching high schoolers stretch out a double spaced, 250 word essay into a 30 minute presentation.

Wondering about the scope of the game? They hired Linguists to create all the Alien language, you can literally learn to speak Banu or Xi'an (the two alien race that are friends with human... there is more than 2 races). You have the Banu who are a society based on being merchants, and the Xi'an is an empire of "Turtle/lizard" like creatures. The Tevarin are bird-like and loss a war with the humans so they have been assimilated into the human society. The Vanduul you saw at the end, is at war with most of the other alien race (not the Banu). And you have another race humankind never met cause they are settled behind the Xi'an empire. We only know the Xi'an are at war with them.

not to mention they hired astrophysicists to figure out the physics of atmospheric flight
