The meerkat is part of the Africa pack anyway. We don’t have any mongoose or mongoose/ weasel like animals in the base game.

Regarding squirrel monkey I have doubts. I always use mods to judge animal difficulty and squirrel monkey looks ugly and anatomically wrong for some reason. Im not primatologist, but at least for me it looks like capuchin rig and animations arent suited for such small primate.
I would say, if Frontier is willing to give new world primate it would be 2nd capuchin and not squirrel monkey. Kinda dissapointing for people deluded by possibilities, but still better than nothing.

I just don’t want another capuchin sized monkey, give me spider monkey, give me howler, give me an absolute chonker.
But Business wise we have nothing really Like a Tree Kangaroo and I am pretty sure that climbing means a lot of effort for Frontier which very very likely will not be put into a free animal. And regarding business I do Not think that an anniversary animal will animate a Lot of people buying the latest DLC Just because it fullfils a rooster.
And to the Meerkat picture. I personally do not think it will have anything to do with the anniversary animal.
But not so much time to wait. If we are really lucky we will hear first Things about the Patch plus anniversary content at the end of this week. Likely it will be next week at the latest.
Wild lagomorphs really don't have a strong zoo presence. I think if we get them it'll be a domestic rabbit in a petting zoo back. Definitely not as the anniversary animal.
What about the Agouti, Possum and Numbat? Mongooses aren't the last mammal group missing from ZT (X-Box). I think it would be great for the sake of animal diversity if we got one animal from each group.

I imagine Doran is excluding them because Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection, the 2017 remaster which included most of the South American and Australian animals, wasn't made by Frontier. They only made the original 2013 Xbox edition.
So with the anniversary being on a Sunday, do you think we'll actually get the animal the week before or week after? Since I'm guessing it probably wouldn't drop right on that Sunday. Either way it's exciting to think it's that close!
I'm really going back and forth between the American Black Bear, Spectacled Bear or Wild Boar. Getting something like the Spectacled Bear would probably mean we wouldn't get a Highlands pack (though not completely impossible). Getting the Wild Boar would probably mean we wouldn't get something Eurasian. If it were the Wild Boar that would mean we'd have two base game piggies which would be cool

The update doesn't drop on the actual anniversary day. I don't think it ever has.
Probably will be released days before sunday or even the next days after update
