I once opened the Pioneer Supplies, saw the item, tried to buy it but it gave a "Transaction error" or something like that, 2 times, so I got out and got in again, it was gone.Right?! I thought I'd be quick enough
For me it was a "matter of seconds", from the moment the game queried the server to render the shop, and it existed, to the time I clicked to buy it, and it was already sold
Lesson: every second counts!!!
Would be funny if the vendor said - "Sorry, just sold it to that gentleman/lady over there."
Cue the Benny Hill chase music.

The moral of the tale, is that to stop wasted journeys give out locations via DM.
