What is Your Favorite Animal? Do You Think That it Will Fit in the Game?

My favorite animal of the world is the JAGUAR, man i really love the jaguars i´m pround that are part of my local wildlife fauna, the jaguar is in the game but i´m a little sad becaue their model are not good but it´s okey

And my second favorite animal is the American Flamingo, i love to see them when i go to the beach and i wish that they woulde be in the game

So my childhood favorite animal has generally been giraffes. In my teen years I grew fond of wolves. In my adult years I have been drawn toward raptors. Having worked with injured raptors, giving tours that show people raptors in the wild and becoming a falconer apprentice. My profile pic is of the hawk I used to work with ftr.
After an encounter with a bird, I looked it up in a Sibley book and determined it was a northern Goshawk, after that they became my favorite of the raptors learning of their unique nature and unpopularity in the world
Anyway
I am content with the giraffes we have.
Red wolves would be nice in my opinion yet I know some of the community doesn’t want another wolf.
Goshawks I highly doubt will make it into the game due to lack of aviary’s and as they are not a very recognized raptor in the general public.

Bat-eared Fox! It wouldn't add anything though to anyone else :( So, I'd go for
  • Grey Fox (adds to the game in that he climbs trees and is genetically even more unique than the Bat-eared Fox)
  • Tanuki (looks almost like a cold-weather Bat-eared Fox with his markings and adds tree climbing as well)
  • Golden Jackal (technically a Middle Eastern/Eurasian Animal but I'd represent the Serengeti wolves with one and would be the first jackal)
  • Bush Dog (not anything like Bat-eared Foxes :( but completely different to the canids we have in game) :D
  • Crab-eating Fox (exotic animal that is actually represented in captivity)

I would say my top 4 favourites that aren’t in the game yet are:
  • Pelican (#1) Such a unique species of bird, unlike anything else.

  • Gelada (#2) Not only the best baboon, but the best old world monkey left out imo, those chest colours are striking.
    1699068714183.jpeg
  • Spider Monkey (#3) On the other side of the monkey spectrum, the best new world monkey imo. These feel like one of the species I could watch forever in game.

  • Patagonian Mara (#4) My most recent favourite, these guys are so much cuter to watch irl than just looking at pictures.

My top favorites are the saiga, which is controversal because of its limited captive presence, and the kea, which is unlikely because it's a flying bird. But snufflenose and sheep-eating parrot would both be awesome inclusions if ever we were so lucky.

For animals which are actually likely, ABB, squirrel monkey, duck, and dwarf goat are my favorites whoch aren't in game yet.

A couple of my favorite animals missing from the game so far are the howler monkey, pelican, musk ox,and ABB.

I'm hoping for the gray fox, of course. But, mongooses seem fun and a 3rd option to differentiate than the meerkat and prairie dogs.

They're so popular that my brother, who's part of the Sonic fandom community, made up a character based off of the Indian grey mongoose, and now the community loves it so much that one guy is drawing them😅

So if the Sonic fanbase approves of mongooses, we should definitely get one

Elephants are my favorite, and we’ve already got two!

When it comes to species not in-game, my favorite marine animal is the manatee. I don’t think there’s a high chance of them appearing in the game.

My favorite birds are the cassowary, harpy eagle, sandhill crane, and shoebill. We already have the cassowary, and we have a good chance at getting the shoebill and sandhill crane. Our chances of getting flying birds are slim.

My favorite primates are the Corquerel’s sifaka and the angolan colobus. We have a better chance of getting the colobus. However, I hope that the developers can make the sifaka’s jumping animations on the ground.

When it comes to reptiles, the gopher tortoise is common in my home state. I’d say that we have a reasonable chance of getting it.

I've got a long list of favourite animals and I'm delighted that lots of them are already in:

  • Raccoon
  • Chinese pangolin
  • Red fox
  • Red river hog
  • Indian Elephant
  • Binturong
  • Clouded leopard
  • melanistic Jaguar (aka black panther)
  • Axolotl
  • Red panda
  • Fossa
  • Asian water monitor
  • Wild ass
  • Skunk

Still missing favourites for me are:
  • any kind of owl
  • any kind of octopus
  • Slow loris or pygmy slow loris
  • Aye-aye
  • Grey fox
  • Douc langur
  • Tanuki
  • Spider monkey
  • Pygmy forest elephant (Bornean)
  • Bush dog
  • Bushbaby
  • Honey badger
  • Bilby
  • Numbat
  • Sea turtle (although I don't think migratory ocean animals should be in the game so fine to not have these)
  • Sea otter
  • Manatee
  • Hummingbird
  • Roseate spoonbill
  • Red squirrel
  • Indian giant squirrel
  • Springhare
  • Rusty-spotted cat
  • Tamandua
  • Maroon & Silver Leaf Monkeys

I'll probably have a longer list when I get back from my South African safari trip this January!

My favourite animals are ducks (in all forms). They obviously could work if there wasn’t the flying thing which seems to be the limiter. However, there are flightless species (and breeds of domestic ducks) like the Fuegian steamer which could be possible:

Would be some cool representation for southern Chile (which has nothing).

In terms of individual species, I’d love the Western capercaillie:
IMG_3866.jpeg

It’s the largest grouse in the world and found throughout taiga and alpine forests in Europe and Northern Asia. The males are particularly striking and sophisticated looking. Obviously, not likely since it’s a bird… However, they don’t fly much and only fly close to ground level.

If I HAD to do a top ten animals list - ugh it would be so hard - but gun to my head, I guess this is what I'd have to commit to:

1. Raccoon*
2. Octopus (common)
3. Chinese pangolin*
4. Red fox*
5. Red river hog*
6. Indian elephant*
7. European river otter
8. Barn owl
9. Pygmy slow loris
10. Black panther*

*in-game

All for sentimental reasons I guess. Life long loves or one's I've picked up along the way - like seeing rescued pangolins in Vietnam be readied for release, or working at an elephant orphanage in Sri Lanka, or becoming obsessed with octopi in the Med from frequent snorkelling/scuba diving trips.

My favourite animals are actually penguins, but I don't tend to mention them much mostly because our selection is already pretty decent and honestly I'm not dying for more.

I would personally like to have a Rockhopper to mix in with the king penguins but it's not a priority for me. Also would like Humboldt, for me this is the zoo penguin and a species I have a personal connection to but once again not a priority.

Gentoo/Chinstrap is not on my wishlist but I'd be fine with it, just that I would prefer the rockhopper for a second Antarctic penguin.

I love European hedgehogs a lot. But I'm not sure how they would fit in Planet Zoo.
Aw I'd love them to be added! There should be a place for them.

This just gave me an idea for a pack called 'wildlife rescue' with small, urban wildlife that different locations would consider 'local'. There could be a free update providing rehabilitation centers and trainers for injured or orphaned wildlife. Then it could be an animal pack with 1 or 2 animals local to each region that can be given care and released when ready, eg:

Europe: hedgehog, red squirrel
N America: possom
Asia: rhesus macaque, giant squirrel
Oceania: numbat
S/Latin America, Africa - I don't know enough about these regions to know what small local wildlife spills into urban areas but are in need of conservation. Maybe a small monkey for S America and a mongoose for Africa?

My favourites being Sea Lions and Foxes are already in game.

As for animals that are not in game, I recently grew fond of Patagonian Maras and Reeves Muntjacs. I would really love to see those.
We have loads of muntjacs around us in Southern England 🥰 I love seeing them when I walk my dog or even just walking around town at dusk. They thrive here for some reason. Well, no predators - that's a good reason! Beautiful and strange tiny deer.
