Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Of course there is more i want (ibis, spoonbill, screamer, spider and squirrel monkeys, Tamandua, SA tapir) but they come second in priority.
I think if we get support for all of 2024, I think we could still get the Spider Monkey. It’s the most recognizable monkey out of all of them and if a LA or Brazil pack does happen then the spider monkey moves up the meta wishlist to the point where hopefully frontier notices it. The spider monkey and the tree roo I feel could be in an Autumn Arboreal Pack.

Also i think the main reason people want an animal pack is because they think we'll get two monkeys in one pack at least (some even list three) but i don't see that happening. Maybe a sight chance of squirrel and howler OR spider, but howler and spider together along with tamarins ain't happening imo.
I can see 2 monkeys, though. 1 is more unique (spider or howler) and the other more clone (2nd capuchin or squirrel)
My other concern about it being a scenery pack is that we always get that one oddball that very few people asked for and yet it takes a spot in the scenery pack. Happened with quokka in Oceania and Water monitor in tropical when there were other more requested options yo be included. So My fear is that is that we get something like idk the kinkajou instead of one the other 5 or 6 animals we are all claming for in every list. In an animal pack doesn't matter that much but in a scenery pack it will robb US ( or maybe just me personally) of a more important animal.
Imagine we get a 3rd caiman instead of a Rhea

I mean I’ve warmed up to both the Quokka and the AWM so I think I’ll be good with most wildcards, only exceptions is for something completely useless like a third caiman.

I swear if they give us another caiman before we get our first DLC tortoise I’m gonna die lol.

Tbh I don’t want another capuchin or squirrel monkey, they’re boring imo. They’re the same size as the monkey we already have which means I’ll probably make the same kind of enclosures for it as I already do in game.

I want something bigger, howler or spider monkey are top priority.

I have yet to see an oddball that I dislike. The only animal bordering that line for me is the HBB, and even then it's grown on me a little bit. But, still not enough. If it looked like an actual HBB and not a grizzly wannabe, maybe I'd like it better
A second capuchin would be like getting the kinkajou for me lol
Not even a tufted capuchin? Oh well, was worth a shot

But I was staying for if we get a clone monkey, I meant. Plus, we already build same style habitats for a lot of animals in the game. Crocs all have similar enclosures minus the foliage. Same with the tortoises

Yes, but most people consider a clone to be the same rig. Animations can vary, but rigs are more or less recycled, so I'm told. An ibis likely would share the rug with the flamingo and/or crane, but the animations would be slightly different.

In any case, we all agree that we should get a Latin America pack, whether it's scenery or animal. Scenery would feature more unique animals, potentially even new rigs entirely, but an animal pack would fill up the continent more with a bunch of clone animals.

And a question for y'all, but how would y'all feel about a tegu coming into the game? Would contrasts the monitors nicely, both in distribution as well as coloration. I'm thinking the black-and-white tegu
Hell yeah i would like a tegu, would nice to get a lizard thats not a monitor for once. They, together with red footed tortoises are definetly up there in my most wanted SA animals
Argentine would be my tegu of choice aswell, they are just super common. But i can also see caiman lizard happening, for a little bit more color.

I couldn’t find an editing software that is free and good though
I use videoproc vlogger and a combination of canva to do my videos. Simple and basic enough to be processed fast enough for my weekly uploads. Videoproc is so far the only free editing software that can process 30gb+ of speedbuild videos without any sort of performance loss for laptops at least. Canva handles the complex editing animations and custom logos/pictures and insert them as videos or pictures.

My hope is getting the SA animals divided across a few packs. Mostly because this scenerio means another years of support + more SA animals overall. Example:

Winter - Highlands. 1 slot. Spec bear or vicuna
Spring - Children's Zoo. 3 slots. Small monkey, SA duck, oddball like coati, mara, tamandua, or kinkajou
Summer - Scrublands. 1 slot. Rhea or mara.
Fall - Treetops. 2 slots. Ocelot. Spider or howler monkey.
Anniverary - 1 slot. spec bear or rhea
Winter - ?

If we go with a scenery pack next year(You never know with Frontier!)

Latin America pack;
-Southern tamandua
-Black howler monkey
-South American coati
-Darwin rhea(If not in the mountain pack)/Patagonian mara
E;
-Hoffman two-toed sloth

Or...

Woodland pack;
-Wisent
-Wild boar
-American black bear
-North-American porcupine
E;
-Cave olm

This pack comes with the optimism that an aviary animal would fill another slot in a pack. Like I have stated several times, aviaries can just work with ceiling options for habitats to give them roofs to keep birds in, that way aviaries can function somewhat like habitat animals, but would be a bit different given their flying capablities. We can then still receive a normal exhibit animal like the iconic Green Anaconda here.

However if it were to be a scenery pack, this is where I would go for it.

Yeah yeah, I meant animal pack😅
As long as we don't get a Yacaré or black caiman, I think we're good.

Ok, sorry for the abrupt subject shift, but imma take advantage since you're on now: what app do you use to screen record your play sessions? Now that I have a desktop that can handle the game, I'd like to begin screen recording some vids (and editing. I have some moderate video editing skills)
I use obs mainly to record gameplay and there is some level of video editing there but not much. Also i think the yacare and black caiman will be alright additions to the the game but not now we need any other reptile first or at least a crocodile before another caiman.

Same here there are very few animals that I dont use and im ok with all of them.

we need smaller tortoises something like a star tortoise which would feel very different to build for compared to the giant tortoises crocs would be pretty similar to build for.

- Red-Faced Spider Monkey: I don't understand why most prefer the Greoffroy's Spider Monkey when the Red-Faced Spider Monkey is so much cooler.

- Black/Cold Howler Monkey: Theoretically it's the same species, so the second one would just be a Color Morph.

- Golden Lion Tamarin
- Golden Headed Lion Tamarin: They would be a clone of each other, which makes room for Spider and Howler Monkey to be in the same DLC.

- Ocelot: It should be easy to make based on existing felines.

- Brazilian Tapir or South American Coati or Spectacled Bear: The priority is the Spider and the Howler Monkey so the Brazilian Tapir, which is practically a clone and needs few changes, has the advantage.

- Greater Rhea or South American Coati or Spectacled Bear: The priority is Spider and Howler Monkey so Greater Rhea, which is practically a clone and needs few changes, has the advantage.

+ 1 WE: Perhaps one (or several) of the many beautiful moths from America.

Optionally, Tamarin could come in a system similar to butterflies, as they are small they could come as WE, the Golden Lion Tamarin, the Golden Headed Lion Tamarin, the Emperor Tamarin and two others. They would basically be clones, which helps our main goal of getting Spider + Howler Monkey in the same DLC.

The South American Coati and the Spectacled Bear will wait for another time if they gets in the way of the main objective, if they doesn't, they can take the place of Tapir or Rhea. In my hypothesis, the Patagonian Mara will come in this December DLC. But I think of it more as an acceptance of reality than anything else because I don't like it at all.

If not an animal Pack:
  • Red-Faced Spider Monkey.
  • Black/Cold Howler Monkey.
  • Golden Lion Tamarin or Golden Headed Lion Tamarin.
  • Ocelot.
  • WE.
