Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Oh, looks like he tried again :D

Dude just needs a faster SSD is all! :)
But really, does he plan these things for extra salt, is that a thing everyone experiences or am I just so lucky?

Whitenite: This last one looked dubious. He crept forward without shields when the doors were hardly open wide enough to let the cockpit through before the side of the hull fell off. He might be playing this for laughs and clips. (I have no good idea how, when, if and against what shields help in SC, so that might not make any difference)

IMHO, PES might be leaving invisible ship parts behind from previous crashes.
Ah, ok, that might be it. I've seen parts of ships and beds floating above the hangar floor and such.

It looked, though, as if he tried to squeeze out too early or hit the visible hangar door (or floor).
I usually just yeet out of the hangar and have yet to experience a crash like this.

Persistent Ejection Streaming.
Ugh. For "Mass Coronal Ejections" that appear to be very frequent omnidirectional flares of intensely bright light that packs a punch and can break your bones.
Not to be confused with "Coronal Mass Ejections" which are something completely different.

Gut-punching light counts as visceral immersion, I guess.

Sometimes the believers do notice the yank and wish CIG would fake it up for a week, so they could lure their mates into the cult.
My friends like to greet me with "You're clear to launch! Have a pleasant stay!"...

As I found out max 100 player servers struggle big time. My mates couldn't get out of beds, fell through lifts and 30kd out of the game. Neither of them spent a cent. Neither of them will be back and both make fun of me when we play other multi player games.
So my idea for Free Fly week is to cap servers at 50 and load up extra servers. Show these new bloods how epic this game is. Show them the vision and where this game is going.

Couldn't get the Caterpillar to work?

Concept a superior one instead :)

It is a nice concept, but what has always annoyed me in space video games, were that cargo ships were more like larger trucks than proper cargo container units. If we ever reach the stage of interplanetary trade, cargo units are going to be MASSIVE. I mean, tens of kilometres long. Never landing on a planet, they will dock in stations similar to our oceanic ports, from which the goods are going to be distributed by smaller units, like trucks / trains.

Dune did it well - gigantic fleet / cargo carriers were essentially the only form of interplanetary travel.
