Seems Elite Dangerous will be continued!

Team 17 also had a bruising report this year as well. It seems that (just like FD) a lot of risky but potentially lucrative bets did not pay off.

The December livestream with info on 'the feature'* will certainly be interesting to see where FD go with ED, and to what level. Does less games mean moar ED focus?

Like ive said before Fdev need to realise that this game (imo) is the best of its kind and needs a little more love.

It's so very very good and close to absolute greatness.. it just seems they are determined to hamstring it either through lack of attention or lack of development. If only they knew that a better game makes happier and more numerous players which in turn makes more arx sales. i wish there was some way for them to understand this. Surely... surely they must see now that making a game that is rubbish is not a good return on investment so concentrate on the one that is 95% epic and sooooo close to a never ending cash cow. Puhleeeese frontier!

Both the doomsters and the 'maybe now we'll get X feature' posters are destined to be disappointed - all this says is that ED is carrying on for this FY as previously planned. And the focus on CMS games doesn't indicate that there will be any more focus on ED in the future.

I imagine it will continue on its current steady progress for a while yet, to the continued annoyance of both of the extremes :D

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, now.... :ROFLMAO:

Ah yes a positive thread wouldn't be the same without the share price.

I think it is relevant though - no point in looking at things through rose-tinted glasses from one part of a sentence, the fact is that announcement was followed by the share price dropping even further from it's miserable £2-ish to under £1.50 at one point. FDEV is having issues, there is no doubt, "organisation review" etc - doesn't mean the company is in danger and doesn't detract from future Elite support, just the market is yet to be convinced and from what I have read the change in Chair is not what people had been hoping for.

Oh come now, ED is Frontier's only remaining bit of diversity so very precious ;)

Still nothing that says the space based CMS Planet Planet isn't definitely going to happen.

With three new CMS in the pipeline, making one of them space-themed (and specifically Elite-themed) so that they can share asset development costs to some extent wouldn't surprise me at all. (Good news: Elite 5 will have extensive base-building support. Bad news ...)
Homeworld RTS like Powerplay would certainly be interesting. Or perhaps a Kumo Burger management game, starting with a kiosk and a crazy dream....
