Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

That's crap yeah. (Doxxing, spitting, etc). Within the spectrum of crappy org behaviour that you probably see everywhere though tbh.
I can't speak for anywhere else...but if that creature had spat on a woman in a public place anywhere in Scotland, I would have had to wait in a fairly long queue to slap some manners have some quiet words with him. Hardly surprising in todays society where pretend hardmen on t'interwebs start believing they are outside of trash talking whilst flying pixel spaceships of course...but there's still a behavioural line in the sand most of them usually don't come close to crossing in the real world outside if they possess at least two consecutively firing braincells 😐

Between all the do

Between that and the encouragement of "hilarious" uncensored man-child racism used for every sentence entered in the "game" chat - you really get the premium PC gaming experience that consoles can't provide.
Oh, believe me...Xbox live and PlayStation network has more than it's fair share of like for like behaviour traits. I gave up playing practically all multiplayer offerings on Xbox live after suffering many years of babysitting not only potty mouthed squeakers but generally toxic barely adult men-children instead of being allowed to just enjoy my game time.

It's a gaming on t'interweb cancer that's only getting worse year by year, regardless of platform

Some games don't implement chat anymore. I think that's a bit extreme, but maybe effective, at least for bigger titles. Then of course you get the discord and private stuff. In general you have to pick your group. While I played Foxhole I had rather positive experience. Had contextual voice chat and a guy impersonating Schwarzenegger. There is like 30 tactical fighting maps making up the strategic map overlay (frontlines is obviously fewer) and it was always a big hello when you met him "It's him again!" "Lol!" "Pls, no!" etc. Then the guy who thinks now is the time to do a grenade rush (almost always fails). You get singers, boom boxers and squakers - candidates for the mute but overall it was a good community. I think we even had cross-faction chat. Always nice to hear the goblins squeak when they flee.

There are....cases....where I would support removing chat. There used to be a "christian" guild playing LOTRO and at a certain time of of the day they would take over world chat to put out sermons, effectively annoying every single other person on world chat and drowning out players just trying to do other stuff. I don't mind them being a christian guild recruiting as such, but their behaviour was obnoxious and they acted as if they had to right to push everyone else out of world chat. Haven't seen them in a long time now though so I think something was done to stop them.

When it affects the operation of the game it's overdue to act. But who's gonna act? Dev? They get paid for developing the game and might not run the operative day to day details. Publisher? You can only hope they have made room for CM in their budget. CM? It's not a thankful job, but every channel players can use has to be moderated since it can negatively affect business.
