Gift Shops

So yeah, Planet Zoo posted this picture:

For a second, I thought it was mod from a player’s account on IG, but then I double-checked the profile and saw that it was from Planet Zoo. I guess it looks like we’re getting gift shops in the next update!

Any thoughts? How do think the mechanic will work? How customizable do you think it will be? What kind of ideas is it sparking in your head (I won’t copy them, don’t worry)?

Ideally all the mugs, plushies and so on would be unique pices, but i think they will be just a couple prebuild shelf variations. Otherwise it also feel a little much for a free update, asuming the gift shops wont be the only thing

And here I am, still wanting the normal Planet Coaster Shops (the brands we are missing), lol.
But I like this, I guess. Have to wait and see how it works.

I think I’ve cracked the code on how they will work.
Notice that the shelf with the Lion and Rhino mask is facing the window. If this was a facility with the staff building insulation-like exterior, it would be solid and that shelf would be facing a solid wall, which would be quite strange. It is possibly there are null options so you can build your own exterior, but still, why would the shelf be facing what could be a solid, opaque wall?
I think this will work much like the restaurants, where there are items (e.g. the shelves, probably check out points) that you can place down and link together to create a shop. You could organize the shelves how you want.

Yes. I think and hope that this is how they will work.

Well the shelf could have stuff on it on both sides, so it doubles for indoor and a potential store window.

Yeah I think that's very likely. I think the gift shop building in the teaser is a blueprint, but we can build our own buildings and place the shelves where we want. There will be a few (I hope) different shelf designs. Maybe they have a toggle on them to choose what is displayed?

I think each "shelf" will be a stand alone flexicolor interactive piece. Then you link each shelf (like how restaurant tables work) to the entrance or register area. And they'll probably also give us a few individual decorative pieces (like a mug, a plushie, etc.) to place how we like.

I think it will function similar to restaurants
Say we place stands or book shelves, we can attach whatever props we want to them, guests will browse/acknowledge the items and then will go to the counter that is synced to those spots where they will make purchases like any normal stand.
Edit: just realized many of you have the same idea that I just typed out

* Proceeds to place a lit torch on shelf *

What would be cool, is if guests walk around with ONLY the items you choose to place down. So, they can only buy what you want in your store.

So ive missed the first part of the stream and apperently the gift shops came up. Did they explain it further?

They mentioned it is a modular system where you choose what you want to display and build up your shop piece by piece allowing for different setups for whatever theme your zoo is. It sounded like mostly everything is customisable with menus allowing you to choose items to display. If it works out like described, it's the best option without being tied to ugly buildings.

Neat! But i guess the mugs, plushie and so on wont be individual placeable pieces right?
