Rep for everyone ☺ Great thread.
You'd think that in the year 3300 you'd at least be able to put a screen there with the view from a camera to improve matters somewhat; you have a multi-Megawatt reactor in the back, so powering it wouldn't be a problem.
I am still searching a better Powerplant than the c from iBootis do you know were?
The Viper requires a different combat strategy to be effective.
.
You have to boom and zoom with it, furballing is not its speciality.

Personally i much prefer the Eagle because its so much more fun to fly and if I want big gun superiority I get the ASP out.
It is horrible imho.
- When you outfit with decent weapons and other tools the jump range becomes abysmal.
- I am getting outmanuevered by eagles and even sidewinders
- shields suck compared to cobra
- I rammed a sidewinder, i took 60% damage while they took 30%, wth.
Maybe its just me but I wasted money on this ship thinking it was basically a cobra but better at dogfights.
Yep G 180-18 has power plants, shield generators and system modules in high classes for the Viper, I got a few things at the small orbital platform at Asellus Prime, I think it is Forster platform.
Smeghead is so right about the overhead canopy having no vision to track your prey though, really annoying that is having Track IR, but it also means less glass to loose in a fight I guess.
Yeah, I don't buy the less-glass-to-break thing, though. Prior to my recent I've been smacked in the face several times now by what were presumably upgraded ships, going from full shields and a pristine hull to nowt, 10% and a nice open-air cockpit in an instant. That plate above my head has done approximately sod all except get in the way.
I'm looking forward to putting the 'C' upgrades I found this morning through their paces. Gotta get the kids to bed then I'll give it a bash.
If one third of the people tell you the ship "is overpowered", one third that "it's ok" and the others "it's barely useable at all"... then the balance is nearly perfect![]()
