Spring 2024 DLC Speculation

Hmm... couple of decent options... I'm gonna say either:
Highlands Pack
  • Markhor
  • Pallas's Cat
  • ?
  • ?
  • ?
Himalayan Temple or Modern Ski Lodge build style... either way, needs a genuine gondola ride.

Daylight Pack
  • Blackbuck
  • Grey Crown Crane
  • Howler Monkey
  • ?
  • More Butterflies x5
No build style, just a lot of new plants.

Sorry about the blanks... there's too many choices and I don't have time think right now...

Hot take, but I hope that the spring DLC is not a Latin America pack. If that's the case, we'll only get 5 species. Yeah, they'll be more unique, but when you think about it, many SA animals are similar to what we have, meaning they won't really need whole new rigs and behaviors.

So, for spring, I'm actually hoping for a Forest pack:
  • American black bear
  • South American coati
  • Spider monkey
  • Ruddy duck
With this habitat roster, we'll get some nice, more unique South American species but also get the ABB outta the way and another waterfowl.
This will leave a South America animal pack seem more balanced when it features clones

I would imagine with the Mute Swan being introduced that we’ll get a duck, likely Mallard, to go with it. This makes me think we’ll get a Barnyard Pack in Spring with a rabbit headliner, dwarf goat, duck, highland cattle and some random exhibit species

I don’t think there is one. With a new game launching, obvious staffing issues, the “retirement gift” to Nancy Jones, and having hit the same patch number as PlanCo, it feels like they are wrapping it up and moving on.

Maybe, but the new game won't launch until a year from now. Also, in the story, didn't Bernie technically retire, too?
Both previous Frontier games that ended (JWE 1 and PlanCo) each need with a larger, slightly more expensive pack. We haven't gotten that yet, so it's still fair to assume that we may get a 5th year of support.

But after that, I highly doubt it. I think 5 years is pretty good

So, since we're getting the Eurasia pack for the Winter, I'm guessing that the next pack in Springtime (if we get one) will be either Central America or Latin America (especially since we did not get any primates in the Eurasia pack). If it's going to be a scenery pack, here are the species I would hope to see, from my own (very biased) perspective:

Black Howler Monkey
Ocelot
Spectacled Bear
White-Nosed Coati
Maybe some kind of bird as a walkthrough exhibit? Any one would be fine with me personally. A man can dream I suppose!

Alternatively, it could just be a big animal pack with a bunch of different heavily requested species in order to give the game its final sendoff. It would be a bit sad for me if that is the case but I can see them potentially doing it. Fingers crossed for one more full year of support though!

I hope we get a couple more dlc next year as there are still many themes with important animals that I think need to be included.

Mountains and a pack dedicated to South/Central America are must-haves. An Arboreal pack with a climbing rework would still be great. And this late in the lifecycle, an African Animals pack would be pretty welcome too.

Also - I'm getting a bit annoyed by people, including some people with platforms, continually working themselves up each cycle by anticipating aviaries and marine creatures, then getting publicly upset when that's not what we get. Give it a rest people, please

I'm going full steam ahead for a North American woodlands pack for spring.
  • American black bear
  • White-tailed deer
  • Virginia opossum or North American river otter
  • Wood duck, mallard, ruddy duck, redhead, fulvous whistling duck, northern pinhead, take your pick
  • Hellbender (or whatever, I'm not gonna be picky here)
I don't care what you call it, but this is what we need to cap off North America in the same way Europe just seems to have been. I also don't care about the scenery, but people seem to want a log cabin or Native American type theme. Those would be fine, I'm just here for the animals.

And then for summer,
  • Ocelot
  • South American coati
  • Greater rhea
  • Patagonian mara
  • Spectacled bear
  • Common squirrel monkey
  • Black howler
  • Two-toed sloth sp.
Two monkeys, no question. And no room for waterfowl, unfortunately - every spot here is essential. There was once a time where I could've been convinced to let go of the spectacled bear, but now that we've gotten the sloth bear I'm doubling down on my desire for all 8 bears.

Love it! If this is what the next two packs end up being, I think I will cry tears of joy.

Honestly, my biggest fear for the spring is a Latin America scenery pack, but I'm kind of expecting it. Four habitat animals are simply not enough to cover such a large region that has been underrepresented for years. So here's to manifesting a Central America Pack

Central America Pack:
1. Geoffery's Spider Monkey
2. Ocelot
3. Cuban Crocodile
4. American Flamingo
5. Hoffman's Two-Toed Sloth (WE)

Posted this the Winter thread but it really belongs here lol

So ive seen a couple people say that a scenery latin america pack is not ideal, and i agree.
So i think a Temperate pack would be a nice option for spring. Black bear, NA porcupine, mandarin duck and muntjac and a native american sceney set would be neat. That would allow for a SA focused animal pack in the summer

Really hoping an arboreal animal pack could be a thing. I imagine something like two monkeys (though probably in the easier end of species, because of the rest of the lineup), a new world porcupine (or other climbing rodent), and a tree kangaroo. Two-toed sloth in the exhibit seems most likely. Mammal heavy but monkeys make it worth it.
Then plenty of new climbing materials as the scenery, since the wooden log set feels outdated by now. As well as climbable foliage with and without leaves.

Alternatively, Frontier could switch around the schedule again (they've done it before) and give us a Latin American Animal Pack in the Spring. Then, maybe for summer we can get a bird pack? Woodlands Pack in Autumn featuring the last few North American animals we need (along with maybe one outlier species from a different continent, like they did with the Twilight Pack) and I would hope for maybe a Tundra Pack in the Winter, to give us those muskoxen and any other cold weather animals we want (Snowy Owl?). Then that's the last pack, and it all ends where it began (the first DLC was the Arctic Pack after all).

Of course, this is all wishful thinking, but in my own perfect world this is what happens if we get one more full year of support. For now, we'll just have to wait and see I suppose!

There are so much more DLC theme that I can imagine... and that I need!

Mountain Pack: Palla's Cat, Markhor, Golden Snub-Nosed Monkey, Alpine Marmot, Hamadryas Baboon, Rocky Mountain Elk, Spectacled Bear adn Chinchille (WE)
Latin America Pack: Ocelot, South American Coati, Southern Tamandua, Patagonian Mara, Black Howler Monkey, Golden Lion Tamarin, Common Marmoset, South American Porcupine
Tundra Pack: Walrus, Musk Ox, Arctic Hare, Sea Otter, Snowy Owl
Children Zoo Pack: 5 children-friendly species from 5 different continents
Tree Climbers Pack: A lot of the species I put in the Latin America Pack are also possible + different species from other continents
Birds of the Wolrd Expansion: at least 15 birds species

This would be my dream... my only problem is that the last scenary theme that I think is really needed is the native american theme and I wouldn't know where to put it xD

In a more realistic way, if we are lucky enough to get one more complete year of content, I would say that a Tundra-like and a Mountain pack are possible, a new pack focusing on South America too. I doubt we'll have a 100% birds pack.

Arboreal Animal Pack
Since we got Aquatic & Conservation as a concept, this idea works well.

Tree Kangaroo
Black Howler Monkey
Tamandua
Golden Snub Nose Monkey
Coati
Spider monkey
Sifaka
Exhibit: Two Toed Sloth

Alternatives: Common Spotted Cuscus (beautiful fur pattern), Aye Aye, Kinkajou,
Exhibit: Emerald/Green Tree Boa or Chameleon

Latin America scenery pack isn't happening. Not sure what spring DLC will be, but I am positive they're saving South American animals for an animal pack.

Also while we're on the topic the name Latin America Animal Packs sounds weird and is, imo, unlikely

Since it seems Frontier is still going with seasons Im sure next one is Central America themed scenery pack. Something is telling me Frontier would pick theme with as much simple animals as possible for animal pack resulting in usual hot-themed summer DLC with secretary bird and bunch of ungulates.

Edit: with Costa Rica being champion in conservation departament with huge success in deforestation reversal it just seems like perfect place for them to look out for potential scenery and animals.
