Make a selfish DLC for your country

So Frontier has decided that you, yes you, get to make a dlc for your very own country. You are given complete freedom over the roster with the following caveats:
  1. No fully aquatic animals
  2. No flying birds
  3. No more than 12 species at max (like the Grasslands pack)
  4. Can’t be an animal pack and a scenery pack, must be one or the other
Otherwise you have complete freedom, while you can have your own selfish choices regarding the dlc, you still have to represent your country. So with that being said, I’ll go first. Everyone say hello to the

The red, white, and blue pack!

This animal pack will mainly focus on endangered species within the US, with some common guys here and there to keep the balance. With that being said here is the roster:

  1. The American Black Bear will be the star of this pack, while not endangered in any way shape or form I can’t have an “America” pack without an animal with the word in the name. Being able to climb, swim, and having a huge range of color variations I think it will be fun to build for!
    IMG_0100.jpeg
  2. The Sea Otter makes for a West coast representative, and has also been an important conservation story in the United States!
    IMG_0101.jpeg
  3. Another common animal, while not huge in conservation, this arboreal rodent is very common! Give it up for the North American Porcupine!
    IMG_0102.jpeg
  4. Important to conservation, and while not everyone’s choice, I can’t go without the Red Wolf.
    IMG_0103.jpeg
  5. As you all know me I have a thing for birds, so I would like to have one common bird found throughout the United States. The wild turkey fits that “bill” like no other.
    IMG_0104.jpeg
  6. For North Americas first crane, I can’t go without the Whooping Crane, which is one of the most important conservation stories in the United States.
    IMG_0105.jpeg
  7. For the Island of Hawaii, and as a waterfowl lover, and for conservation, we can’t go without the Nene.
    IMG_0107.jpeg
  8. For the final bird of the pack, I have to go with the Burrowing Owl. It can burrow, is found in many different environments, and is just perfect!
    IMG_0108.jpeg
  9. Now the last 4 animals are all exhibit animals, and this one is important for conservation! The American Burying Beetle is colorful, has America in the name, and is very important for ecosystems!
    IMG_0109.jpeg
  10. For a giant native salamander, I can’t go without the Hellbender! Also very important in the conservation efforts for this slimy friend.
    IMG_0110.jpeg
  11. With its bright coloration, I feel inclined to have the venomous Coral Snake in game!
  12. As the final animal, I have to have he alligator snapping turtle.
I tried to hit a good mix of conservation efforts, with more general animals. As well as pick more unique choices. I know this pack has 0 ungulates, but for me personally I feel fine with the batch we got. I’m excited to hear what everyone else has!

Also here are some animals that didn’t quite make the cut for me:
  1. Sandhill crane
  2. Black footed ferret
  3. Blue farmer butterfly
  4. Banana slug
  5. Lake Erie water snake
  6. Mallard duck
  7. White tailed deer
  8. Wood frog
  9. Bobcat/ Canadian lynx
  10. Roadrunner
  11. Coyote
  12. Pupfish

I wouldn't want a USA pack, but here we go:

3. Carribean Flamingo
4. Rocky Mountain Elk
5. White-Nosed Coati
6. Desert Bighorn
7. Southern Sea Otter
8. Pine Snake/Corn Snake/Kingsnake (E)

Here’s my dlc, the Homelander dlc. My selfish picks
1. American Black bear: there’s a lot that can be done with the ABB and color variants.
2. Greater Roadrunner: NA currently does not have a bird. Plus I’ve been hoping for south western rep.
3. Mountain goats: just like the Dall sheep, I have memories of watching them while working in Alaska
4. Wapiti: the only deer that I have any desire for
5. Coyote: a different canid, can use in a lot of biome builds.
6. Musk Oxen: seems to be a well requested animal that also gives Europe attention
7. Jack Rabbit
8. WE turtle pond. Red eared slider turtles, yellow bellied turtles.western pond turtle and 2 more.

Honorable mentions: good animals, I just consider them secondary
1. Bob cat
2. Sandhill cranes
3. Bighorn sheep.
4. Sitka deer.
5. Red wolves
6. Sea otter
7. American flamingo
8. Coral snake

No thanks
1. Alligator snapping turtles personally scare me
2. white tailed deer
3. Turkey
4. Possum
5. Gopher

For the UK, there’s not much left that I need. The first three are all essential but the rest I could forego.

  1. Western capercaillie
  2. European wildcat
  3. Red squirrel
  4. Eurasian beaver
  5. Natterjack toad / Harvest mouse
Crannog themed scenery supplemented with highland themes

If Animal pack:
  • Eurasian crane
  • Highland cattle
  • Eurasian otter / Great bustard / Red grouse

I hope to see lots of North American porcupines, sea otters, walruses, and wild turkeys from my Canadian and US American friends. Those are the essential North American animals left.

4. Roseate spoonbill
5. South American tapir
6. Ocelot
7. Guanaco (alt. Black and white tegu)
8. Ex: Argentinian horned frog
This would probably be my favorite pack of the bunch! I would personally use the black and white tegu, I like having another habitat lizard that isn’t a monitor!

USA Pack
. ABB
. Wild Turkey
. Burrowing Owl
. NA Porcupine
. White-nosed Coati
. Black-footed Ferret
. Bighorn Sheep
. Red-bellied Cooter Turtle

I would happily buy this

Scottish pack I'll probably never use but would be great to have them:
  • Scottish Wildcat
  • Highland Cow
  • Red Squirrel
  • Pine Marten
  • European Hedgehog
  • Eurasian Otter
  • Atlantic Puffin / Grey Heron / Western Capercaillie
  • Horde of Highland Midges for walkthrough exhibit if I want to be funny or Common Adder for exhibit
Personally I would want to be selfish, I would want the puffin and the capercaillie. Granted I saw another post about the grey heron, and we could use another bird, so screw if I want all three.

I could easily add 20 habitat animals I would like to see for the United States:
  1. American Black Bear: My favorite bear has a bunch of color varients. This is one of my big three species wants and the main thing I need to be happy with NA rep. This bear is very common in zoos.
  2. Bighorn Sheep: This would finally give the Rocky Mountains a much-needed caprid and add a desert one to the game. It's a pretty simple clone pick that is actually very useful for finishing off both the mountains and deserts. They are extremely well known (like our alpine ibex) and featured in art often. I still kind of need this one.
  3. Sea Otter: They are adorable and the most unique otter left. I keep picturing them in a coastal pack with a sea turtle, pelican, walrus, rockhopper penguin, and perhaps manatee. I really want them.
  4. Wild Turkey: This is probably the most iconic habitat bird, of which NA has none. It's the largest fowl by a wide margin and is the only domestic ancestor from the continent. They would be a great addition. NA needs a bird or two.
  5. Wapiti: Adds another ungulate for the Rocky Mountains and also lives in Asia. They are the second-largest deer behind the moose and about as tall, just less tanky. They have a beautiful call and can be found in lots of local high and low-budget zoos, which makes me want them a bit more than the white-tailed deer, but both/either would be great for a deer that we frequently keep in zoos.
  6. Roseate Spoonbill: While this one mostly covers SA, it also ranges in southern FL and Peurto Rico. There a bit more unique than the Carribean flamingo, though I really want both. Add a sea turtle, a brown pelican, and hopefully a manatee for the Carribean to go blue.
  7. Nene: Probably the best and one of the most popular options for a goose. Adds something for Hawaii and thus the Oceania realm.
  8. Brown Pelican: This adds another thing for the coasts that could be paired with our pinnepeds. While most people seem to be rooting for the great white pelican, this would be a good one to have, too. They cover NA, SA, CA, and the Carribean.
  9. Musk Ox: They are a cool caprid and the main prey of arctic wolves. Adult musk oxen will stand facing outward in a circle around their young to defend them. They're neat.
  10. Ribbon Seal: They would add a very eye-catching pinneped. I would love them. I'm pretty sure we have a better chance of getting the walrus, which is also nice.
  11. North American Wood Duck: This duck is often featured in local zoos. They would be great.
  12. Bobcat: They are about half the weight of lynxes and super common in local zoos. I would like this one for local zoo rep. They can be found in every biome except tundra and tropcial.
  13. Honorable Mentions: Grey Fox, Sea Turtle, Walrus, Ringtail, North American Porcupine, Sandhill Crane, White Tailed Deer, Jackrabbit, Snowshoe Hare, Rocky Mountain Goat, American Flamingo, Fisher, Luna Moth, Red Sided Garter Snake, Alligator Snapping Turtle

Bonus Round, top 12 plants:
  1. Flowering Dogwood: They are small trees with pretty white or sometimes pink blooms with four petals. They can be found all around the east coast.
  2. Live Oak (with some Spanish moss pieces): These are icons of the southeast. I would love to see them
  3. Texas Bluebonnet: A pretty and well known flower for habitats and gardens.
  4. Paintbrush: A pretty and well known flower for habitats and gardens.
  5. Black Eyed Susans: A pretty and well known flower for habitats and gardens.
  6. Trumpet Pitcher plants: An eye-catching and carnivorous plant.
  7. Tulip Poplar: A common hardwood tree with orange and pale yellow blooms in the spring. The leaves turn bright yellow in the fall.
  8. Juniper: An evergreen shrub with blue berries. Sometimes they grow into interesting twisty trees.
  9. Yellow Pine: Loblolly and longleaf pine trees are good options for the southeast. At least one would be great.
  10. Cottonwood Tree: These are common near water in otherwise arid regions. They drop fluff.
  11. Pink Lady's Slipper: These interesting flowers were in ZT2.
  12. Sabal palm: Adds another nice palm tree.
