COMPLETED CG Campaign to Acquire Unclassified Relics

Oh, I have only checked Inara for the current standings, apparently the numbers registered there are much lower.

Well, the CG comes both front loaded and back loaded. In the front are all the commanders dropping off existing surplus of artefacts and in the back end will be the commanders currently farming dropping off their proceeds. Between that is probably going to be a tickle.

The paintjobs are pretty amazing, ....

but the thargoid sites to convert relics into unclassified ones are by far the worst thing I've seen outside of Glaives.
Please, if you design a community goal around sites like this, please make sure they don't waste the things you need to convert by spawning them in the ground/ceiling or somewhere that takes just as long to get a good SRV "jump" than gathering a load of relics in the first place.
Plus endlessly spawning Scavengers get old fast, even if they're easy to dispatch, or avoid. Their remains also don't need a spicy hitbox that turns the arena into a pinball machine, nor do said remains need to stay around forever, it's just infuriating for something (for this CG specifically) meant to be used "competitively" (in a loose sense, but the bottom 25% still waste their time entirely).
It's fine doing it once or twice to get a couple relics made to unlock stuff, but as a mechanic for a CG is just terrible.
And the silly "this area is dangerous" 15 second time logout tax can.... go off all the way to beagle point :p

Anyway, hope y'all don't struggle with this as much as I do 🙈

Like many other activities in Elite it's fun and atmospheric for the first few times but if you have to do it over and over again the lack of polish and unfixed bugs that have been piling on, esp after odyssey will really show.

It could be a fun skill based activity with some extra tweaks, but it ends up just being a time gate to convert the relics. It was added to be an atmospheric thing - using it for CGs officially does run it to the ground.

Hard to predict this kind of CG.
Previous Guardian collection CGs got around 400kT, but that was collecting all six types of item rather than just relics, and of course was at a time when general CG participation levels were higher. (And then the Unclassified Relic CG complicates that further)

For the previous ones 60ish items would generally get to top 75%, so I'd expect this to come in quite a bit lower than that

I would add the intermittent bug that makes the SRV get thrown around every 30 seconds or so (after activating the machine with guardian objects in it) that never goes away, even if you drive several kilometers from the structure.

If there's really a lower amount of participants then that would drive up the average which makes it harder to predict for me, but 60 is a solid bet for these since it's a good amount for someone who's doing it without a FC.

I think the way it's coded is that it's supposed to go away with time and not distance, I just land my ship outside the door and put the SRV back on the ship and wait it out (its like 2-3min), that's only if I'm not relogging because I want to get stuck relics back (probably not worth it unless they eventually fall down on their own since it's faster to take the loss of 1 relic and just cook more).

Can you please explain how you can get stuck relics back? It’s so buggy. I can’t believe this made this a CG without fixing these issues first.

Is anyone else having many of their relics disappearing into the ceiling? It’s so frustrating.
I just lost a whole batch of 3 to this nonsense...
Previously it was about 1 in 10 that got yeeted.

It's the stupid shockwave/pulse..

Try disembarking on foot and it should dislodge itself after a few seconds. It worked for me 3 times so far (3 out of 3).

So to turn guardian relics in (y’all have fun with the unclassified grind) do I just sell them at Felice Dock in the commodities market?

Me giving the grelic a piece of my mind.

Will try next time it happens - not sure if the Scavengers will like it, but they can have it if they complain 🔫:devilish:

Are there "empty" sites without the annoying little buggers?

Edit:
Unfortunately disembarking from the SRV doesn't un-stuck relics solidly embedded in the ceiling
