Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Is it my imagination, or is there a family resemblance here...? :geek:

Seems it's actually a distant relative of a certain ocean-going predator... cue violin/cello :]

Did my first ever neutron jump last night, in prevision of future long travels so I wanted to learn that.
Taxi Rasta the Cool Dolphin was the guinea pig for that.

The scary part was to ride that wave.

The difficult part was to figure how to pick the system without a route being plotted; (Thanks to that forum for the answer, once again!)(y)

But in the end, that Dolphin did quite the jump without being vaporised to dust.

Doing some exobiology while out test-flying my new Krait Phantom that I've outfitted as a neutron runner. Bacterium Vesicula being tricky to find as always. Even with using the "ping" of the composition scanner, I still ended up driving over this sample a couple of times before finding it:

I tend to use the camera drone (ship as well as SRV) to scout for bios. On the sunny side, mind you, as the drone is useless in the dark.

Finally did our first travel to a black hole in ED with my buddy:

The black hole hunter was my old Adder stripped down to nothing but longer jumprange, a yellow paint job, and re-named Ewing-Schwarzchild.

As we approached 25 iota ophiuchi B, 5 jumps away from our starting point Maljang, we got the giggles as the thing completely messed up everything and gave us a bit of a spatial disorientation.

We got as close as we could before the ship's systems refused to go further...

In our way back, busting SC starting 25kms away from a BH in ED was completely visually insane as the acceleration kicked in while in the middle of a gravitational lense...

...unfortunately, we weren't able to verify the quantum theory that says if you 'd go inside, you'd see Fdev programmers working on ED. But I don't believe everything those bartenders use to say after a drink or two on a forgotten small outpost where there is nothing to do except mining and drinking anyway, so...

BOOOM! A heavy landing .. or crash .. or whatever ya wanna call it .. but Lakon builds tough and the shield held up. Of course, I make light of the heavy "G" rating. Easy there B45-1.. And what a perfect crash site, a real desert isle taco wagon for minerals out there. Survey says good arsenic deposits and tin! Bring a bring bring it!

5 arsenic (x3 a piece=15..), 6 carbon, 5 germanium, 1 iron, 7 mercury, 27 nickel, 14 phosphorus, 3 selenium, 14 sulphur, and 12 tin, in about 45 minutes, pretty decent haul!

I passed through the Aucopps today into the Drojeae and picked a measure of plants. Nothing too fancy but a lot of tubuses and a couple of receptas. One looked like a some fine series of 1970s lamps from a boutique thrift store

I still find it handy in the dark! Try turning off your headlights and experiment with the altitude. DON'T RESIST THE POWER OF THE DARK SIDE, CMDR TIMBER!

I hope you guys aren't getting tired of my damaged ship pictures,

You jes' tell us where ya need shot CMDR 0threeeleven! We aim to please

I'm a stick a torpedo in your tailpipe! Ur thrusters will look like blown out trick cigars! Bring the camera!

It might be helpful finding those bioluminiscent plants, if you get close enough, yes.
Oh, I embrace the dark side from time to time, particularly if the light side is too bright to see even with sunglasses and sunvisor. Or you feel like strolling across a giant mustard seed... Someone once said about me: "The night vision is strong in this one."

I've popped over to the Sanguineous Rim just for fun ,And, once again, I'm getting bio Codex entries. Now I'm quite confused as I really thought I'd got most of them out here - unless I've just been really lucky in the ones I've found so far.

At this point in the sector, I'm quite "low" in the galactic plane so stars are pretty thin down here. Still, it does appear there's a few undiscovered systems which is nice.
