The "Big Six" animal requests -difficult choices as the wraps up

So this is not going to go over well but I'm generally curious about responses. There are six animals that have maintained a large support of votes on the metalists and a large amount of discussion as why they're high priority. We're nearing the game's end most likely. One pack, maybe two packs at most. Out of these six, please pick a maximum of three that, in your opinion, should have priority to be added in. Also please denote your preferred option if there's only room enough for one.

Coatimundi (any species)
Secretary Bird
Baboon (any species)
Tree Kangaroo (any species)
Walrus
Muskox

At this point, I hope most for the Tree Kangaroo, Coatimundi and Secretary Bird, with the Secretary Bird being my pick if we could only pick one.

Enjoy the popcorn and fireworks folks, but I'm not going to live under false impressions or delusions we're going to get all of these anymore.

Hmm i thought the howler was up there with all these for a long time as well.

Out of those i pick

Coati (priority)
Secretary bird
Tree kangaroo

I think these three are like nothing we have currently ingame. No, kangaroo and secretary are not "essential" but are different from other animals in the roster to.make them more appealing and interesting.

BUT, if we are going with what would be more useful for zoos in general that then:

Coati
Baboon
Musk ox

From this Selection, I would choose Baboon, Secretary Bird and Walrus. Want all those Species since a long Time in the Game. I wonder if any of those will make it into the Game in the last DLC

So picking from the top 6 requested animals, I would very much dislike receiving the secretary bird and walrus based on how much I would use them ... or maybe my intense hatred for the Secretary bird being the most requested bird over literally anything else.

What's left are semi-useful animals for my recreations leading me to say: Coati, baboon and Musk ox. Coati is the only animal here that will improve South America slightly with another arboreal animal, the baboon is a fairly common zoo animal that allows us to have grassland primates for African savanna/Rocky habitats. The Musk ox is one of my personal favourites and fits the colder zoos I build, the largest hole for tundra representation is the Musk ox currently.

Just one animal to choose? Naturally that goes to the musk ox as that's the only animal here on my top 5 personal wishlist.

I think it's very likely we'll at least get 1 of these 6 in the final pack. Coati obviously if it's a focus on Latin America....but if it's a worldwide pack, any are possible.

1. Tree Kangaroo
2. Coati
3. Baboon

I'm prefer mammals... and the Walrus and Musk Ox aren't as essential to me as they wouldn't be as versatile as the tree kangaroo, coati, and a baboon.

I have zero interest in secretary bird and I would probably not use the walrus. Just leaves the tree kangaroo, coati, musk ox and baboon. I am gonna guess modders will be able to make a nice coati. So I am going for the remaining three. Picking just one is harder. I guess I am going for the baboon then (gelada please). Not even sure if I would use it in my zoo. But the game needs monkeys. And a lot of zoos have baboons.

I'm going to say:

Coati - quite unique
Baboon - this is probably the best known primate missing in the game even despite the lack of South American monkeys
Musk ox - we have plenty of carnivorous cold animals, but we need more herbivorous cold animals

The walrus is definitely a must for me. I’ll also go with the baboon and tree kangaroo for my second and third, but I also want the coatimundi and secretary bird.

Ordered in regards to personal priority.

1. Tree kangaroo - not only one of the most unique mammals left to add, but also a very important species for rounding out Oceania's representation with a missing icon of New Guinea. I'd prefer Goodfellow's but would also be thrilled with Matschie's.
2. South American coati - only SA animal out of the six, which immediately gives it a boost, and also the only carnivoran species missing from the game that I still consider essential. Strongly prefer the SA coati over the white-nosed given the former is more widespread in zoos globally.
3. Secretary bird - they're not my most wanted bird, but still a bird nonetheless and a very cool and unique one at that. Basically the only way to bring representation for birds of prey without having flying birds.

And all my enemies on this forum have the opinions I expect them to have lol.

Anyway, I would love the top 6, but muntjac, pelican, golden pheasant, markhor, howler monkey, spectacled bear, shoebill, echidna, gaur, aye-aye, blackbuck, marabou, scarlet ibis, leopard seal, ratel, and gerenuk with them

Instead of baboon I would love gelada, and some ocelot/serval/pallas cat on top as cherry would be great.

Then a cobra, mantis, chameleon, basilisk, frilled lizard, alligator snapping turtle and giant salamander and voila perfect, exept for just-another-bear/lion/tiger/leopard lovers of course

Not sure I’d agree those are the most requested 6 (no flying birds, new world monkeys for example) but, playing along, I’d go with (in order of most- to least- preferred)

  1. Tree kangaroo
  2. Baboon
  3. Coati
  4. Secretary bird
  5. Walrus
  6. Muskox

Top 3 in order

1) Coati (Ring Tailed). It represents SA and it also is an amazing interspecies animal
2) Tree Kangaroo. Very unique animal and it represents a place where few animals are from. I'll prefer Matschie's but I'll be fine with Goodfellow's
3) Baboon (Hamadryas). I love primates

Also, why is there no Howler Monkey here? I'm pretty sure it's the most requested animal at the moment?

You're correct, the Howler Monkey is at the top of the 2024 list. But I didn't include this on the list because the community as a whole was not really centering itself on a particular New World Primate species until the last year, rather wanting just more New World Primates in general. Maybe it should have been included, but that's my reason for not doing so.

I want a Coati, a Baboon and a Tree Kangaroo.

I really don't want the other three, I wouldn't include them in my top 20. I wouldn't use the Walrus or the Musk Ox at all, and there's many african birds I'd like to have before the secretary bird.
