Love the look of the new Python. I'm really hoping we finally get a dedicated Large Exploration ship, with a decent view out of the cockpit.

I been thinking about this and recon because this ship was described as functionally different from other ships. It's perhaps either something to do with thargoids. Or, something to do with a new feature coming to elite dangerous later in the year.Yes but why?
The Python is as popular as it is because it's multi-role and it's the largest carrying capacity for a medium pad ship.
What is the MkII going to do the MkI can't?
Interestingly having just listened to it again, Arf does say about the Python Mk. 2
"it's functionally different to the ships that are in the game. There's a lot of different reasons for that."
I would come back just to play with that.1) The MkII Python looks STUNNING
2) Please, please, please let one of the other new ones be a proper medium Imperial Ship (MkII Clipper?).
That is a passenger ship not an Exploration ship. The cooling is shocking. The fins on the back are completely impractical, especially when picking though Lagrange clouds. And more than half the cockpit view is obscured
How about a Type 8 Explorer? That is a passenger ship not an Exploration ship. The cooling is shocking. The fins on the back are completely impractical, especially when picking though Lagrange clouds. And more than half the cockpit view is obscuredI could go on.
It looks like it's designed for hypersonic entry/departure from atmospheric worlds, so obviously, it's a Buckyballer. That is a passenger ship not an Exploration ship. The cooling is shocking. So you wont be taking one to Beagle then like i did? That is a passenger ship not an Exploration ship. The cooling is shocking. The fins on the back are completely impractical, especially when picking though Lagrange clouds. And more than half the cockpit view is obscuredI could go on.
If so, there'll be a Fed ship too (probably a small)2) Please, please, please let one of the other new ones be a proper medium Imperial Ship (MkII Clipper?).
It can fit the all-new intergalactic drive, ready for the Andromeda jump...it's functionally different to the ships that are in the game.

HAH, i wish! But i do not think that will happen in the forseeable future. That’s because it will be able to fly through the dense atmosphere of the atmospheric worlds that we will be able to land on.
I didn't watch the stream so i have a question.
All four ships going to be variants of ships we already have?
Explorer variant with the cockpit at the front so you can actually see something other than Anaconda would be nice.Nah, Anaconda looks like a proper ship - the big cargo bay, the front observation deck, the back seated bridge - from where you can observe the 2 large ax mc turrets beautifully tracking their targets
Hell yeah!
Perform better than it looks!Yes but why?
