First Of im not doing powerplay, never caught it. Second I moved to another place yes.. But I have done that before aswell and that have never been an issue. Im not trading any high value stuf ( I know I'll be more likely to get interdicted) I just dont understand why I get interdicted and shoot to pieses before my FSD even got loaded up again. They dont even scan me they just start fireing straight out of interdiction no scan no nothing.. and before I even turn around they have my shileds shut down and im done for...
I know I could just find people to help, but if the game no longer lets players be alone what is the point then?

I havent even fit my type 9 with guns cause I get lower jump range.. I have never had guns on trader ships before. So something must have changed since i get hammered constantly by multiple NPS at ones, it takes roughly 2 min to go around thoese 1234LS but seriusly getting interdicted 4 times on that small distance is just....

Can it be the same NPC even tho the name is different?
4 interdictions in a single system sounds like missions. Not the T9's forte.
These days it seems to be a binary 'cargo? Yes/no' as to whether an interdiction occurs rather than value.
A shield and boosters over hull reinforcement every time.
Keep your eye on the scanner. Large & medium ships can be evaded every time. Small ships can be impossible to evade in a T9 but their capabilities are limited.
Evasion is better than trying to fight or run in a T9.

Try a armed Trading Ship. When i trade i use the Cutter to make some easy bonus money on those pesky NPC's
The NPC are not really a threat, they are a annoyance. (CHAFF SPAM ETERNALLYYYY HAHAHAHAAAAA) Gods i hate that Module.... One of the reasons i switched to the Corvette as my main ship so i can use Fixed weapons..... They still spam chaff though.

Each system has variables against NPC generation plus your combat and commander ranks may be spawning harder enemies. Sounds like you're jumping into low security systems, engineered NPCs are interdicting you for valuable cargo... maybe you've taken high difficulty missions too. That said it might just be a bad week and things go back to normal next week. Could be over tiredness or stresses outside of game affecting judgement.

For carefree trading, it is time to upgrade.

I even fit collector limpets to gather goodies from the baddies debris field.
Shock Cannons are soooo satisfying to use! Pity about the ammo count, but if you just want to defend yourself/break up the trading loop with the occasional bit of combat they would be ace. I currently have pack hounds on my Cutter but due to the PH bug Im gonna switch out and give them a go. Cheers for the idea!

I got interdicted while still in the hot zone of a star yesterday. It ended 2 seconds later and I can only speculate as to why 😹

If you were heading away from the star the attacker would have to get between you and the star and would be likely to crash into the exclusion zone

Yep, it so satisfying to get their message that they're after your cargo and then have them disappear when they hit the star :D

Well Im not really crying im just asking if something has changed? And the fact that im pretty close to being bankrupt bacause of getting hammered constantly.. so thjat toxic comment is right back at ya
definitely mothball the T9 until your bank balance improves a bit.. the last thing you need is no rebuy!. somrthing like a python will still be ok for trading to get your balance back but also is stronger so will be safe.

i have what most would consider is a paper thin T9. i have the smallest shield you can fit on it just to protect against dings when landing and a few laser hits (tho it is engineered to give a little more). i also but shield boosters on it as they dont take up cargo space........ and i have heavy duty light weight armour mod on it - which not only doesnt take up cargo space but its zero mass as well.

so its engineered a bit, but still has (from memory) 754t capacity and with its heavily engineered FSD can jump a fair way as well.

its certainly not indestructible but i have only ever lost......... 2 i think ships with this build. I win maybe half of the interdictions with it.... but i dont push it too far, if it looks like i am gonna lose i submit rather than have the penalty added of a forced drop.

i do not fight in it (tho sometimes i carry mines just to possibly slow down attackers....... not always tho it depends.) am definitely a drop, full pips to shields and run - then as soon as shields drop, full pipps to engines. if it looks like i will be masslocked i also try to have an alternate hyperspace jump option incase supercruise wont cut it.

you can also minimise your interdictions by keeping an eye on who is around you and possibly taking the scenic route to your destination. in reality it doesnt even take much longer, but that way it becomes very obvious if someone is hunting you and you can try to head them off by going round a planet. (the npcs are pretty dumb in that sense)

if i can tell its an anaconda or a FGS or something like that tailing me then i am a lot more wary than if it is a smaller ship.

The T9 is a bag of crap, ditch it, the only one i have left is for dodgy upside down relic farming CGs.
How dare you. -next you are going to say the T7 is not the best bus in the game! (which it is)

I will have none of it i say! :ROFLMAO:

Your suggestion that OP can make the change to a T10 might work, although at 100mil he's not going to get a lot of upgrades.

OP i see what you are saying (main T9 pilot for years).

Your issues most likely stem from being in a low security system; it is the only thing that can explain the onslaught of interdictions.
-that, or maybe the system is under pirate attack / otherwise impacted.

I can confidently escape pirates in the T9, although it was not always thus.
I highly recommend engineering the bulkheads if not upgrading them; a good shield is paramount.
-making sure to A-grade your FSD and maybe select internals too goes a long way; some select reinforcement too.

My own TUKTUK is by all margins a "paper T9", however it is also reinforced enough to survive in time for highwaking.
(whenever dangerous.exe interdicts me at CGs i highwake out of his tunnel just to troll him 🤪 )

I concur that posting your build and taking advice from there is the way to go.

cheers

Shock Cannons are my favorite weapon (minus the ammo thing). Don't want to de-rail the thread, but what Pack Hound bug do you mean?
(reply in tiny letters so it looks like we're whispering)
Hehe, there's a wee bug where multiple banks of PH's refuse to fire even with firegroups and wep distos properly set up. From what I can tell it happens on different ships, sometimes after a mag reload sometimes not. Its been logged on the issue tracker, but im guessing its not exactly a high prio issue.

OP has an Inara account (T9 build is visible). Before the past few weeks, appears not to have played since 2017. So yes, quite a bit has changed (relatively) "recently".
Ah, okay, then yes, pirates have changed behavior to attacking once they pull you down without scanning. Presumably because people just jumped out and they weren't much of a threat.
If that Inara build is accurate, I suggest some changes, at least ones that are relatively cheap: https://edsy.org/s/vwTVT3e

Item Type Lvl Qty
Credits 4,688,643

This sacrifices about 2 Ly of jump range and 48 tons of cargo space in exchange for a bit more durability, at least enough time to get away from NPC attackers. The cost is low too, compared to A ranking some of the core modules when you're short on credits. The rebuy cost is around 5.8 million credits with this cheaper upgrade, but make sure you're not flying without a rebuy in any case. Chaff was discarded as the type 9 is just too big a target for it to be very useful, and the heat sink launcher was removed as the better power plant should help with heat problems. You can use either a point defence under your ship or another shield booster based on preference and if you tend to attract hatch breakers more often than not.

What’s the PH bug?

I keep reverb torps and packhounds on mine just to quickly deal with npc condas and T10s. To be honest I’ve never even tried shock cannons but now you’ve got me curious.

Edit:

Nevermind, I saw someone else asked and you answered. Can’t say I’ve ever noticed them not firing but may depend on the ship as you said.

I use twin pack hounds with a 4A Overcharged/AL MC, once my laser turrets and fighter have dropped the shields its funny just how fast NPC pirates go boom :ROFLMAO:

This shooting instead of scanning is a bug. This is likely what's happening to you. If you're not getting a request for X amount of cargo, it's the bug that's getting you.
