When will the new ships come out?

I'm expecting plenty of these. FDev made a bit of a balls up with the vid they showed. The manoeuvrability of the Python Mk.2 in that vid has it rivalling an Eagle... so when it is added and the ship's acceleration, agility and top speed have been set, loads of people will be complaining about how it's nothing like it was in the preview vid.... because they will all have ignored the "WORK IN PROGRESS ASSETS" text that is on screen throughout the entire thing.
This is the way of the forum! :D

If you want an honest answer based upon experience of their historical behaviour. The general rule with FD is ‘later than expected’ or ‘as far down the line’ that can be allowed.

Only playing devils advocate. FD has a long history of dragging out content, which they’ve sat on for years. So respectfully, even if FD confirmed say anytime soon in the next week, probably on a Saturday afternoon, when the vicar gets back from his morning bicycle ride, or the kettle’s boiled; I still would not be surprised if it got pushed back between September 2024 and April 2025.

This is not intended as discouragement, only a desire for FD to hurry up with such drops, because they have had apparently a lot of content planned, but irrespectively have either sat on it for too long - intentionally, or naively, or they discarded content, which probably would have been brilliant… it to me identifies an actual absence in content, in that they seemingly pull focus on singular elements to capitalise upon them, and maximise their monitory value over a longer period of time.

During the January Stream Arf said: "relatively soon" then immediately corrected for "this year"
Some bits pertaining some relation, story wise, between the release of Python Mk2 and the Titans fate seemed to surface during the last stream, but it was quite vague.

The way the Titans appear to be going down, Taranis nearly gone, if it's not Soon(tm) soon then it will be to late! Of course we don't know what will happen when Taranis does go down so there's still some vagueness there!

My guess is the titans will go down leaving something behind, material or somesuch. We will have to collect that in a CG, then some engineer will publish a huge break-through in armor tech, leading to the development of a new type of vessel, being able to withstand both corrosive and anti-guardian fields with its hull. I wouldn't be surprised if the PMk2 is also locked behind materials you can only gather on-foot (ship schematics?), so you need to have Odyssey. Would click with the recent lowering of prices. After all, FDev needs to make money.

IMO they should have had Odyssey only Ships by the end of 2021 / beginning of 2022...
What better incentive for a space game than to have some shiny new ships - especially if the shiny new ships bring a bit of powercreep to the table (not like it didnt happen in the past with the Kraits for example)

Mmm, current Python is the best M pad trader. If the PMk2 ends up being the best M pad combat ship then Faulcon Delacy will corner the market. Time to increase your share holding.
Yeah, DeLacy is the answer to most questions already:
Best medium trader—Python
Best medium passenger capacity—Python
Best medium all-purpose—Krait MKII
Best medium with SLF bay—Krait MKII
Best medium explorer—Krait Phantom

Now if the Python MKII would also answer one or more of the following:
Best medium maneuverability (currently FDL)
Best medium speed (currently Mamba)
Best medium firepower (currently Mamba, I believe, at least on paper)
it would be a full house for Delacy🙂

TBH, it'd look absolutely rad on my flight suit🙂

I did wonder when they said the Python mk2 would be PvP focussed whether it would be getting new weapons a bit like the early AX weapons but whereas they were only effective against Thargoids these would only be effective against players.
