Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I decided to try something I have not yet attempted -- buying Tritium from my carrier.

I think I want to take a very long trip into the black, which means I need a bunch of Tritium.

Usually I just buy it myself, and haul it in the T9 or Cutter to my carrier.

But it should be possible to get other CMDRs to do the hauling, if I set up a buy order with a high price. It'll cost me a lot more, but I won't have to do the hauling.

So, I've set my carrier near a station that sells Tritium, and set a buy order for 150% of Galactic Average. I'm not sure if anyone will actually notice and sell me some Tritium.

If not I'll just haul it myself as usual. But I want to see what happens.
I had success by accident setting a buy order at about 62K/ton giving a 12K/ton profit. All I did was sync data to inara and commanders found it. I was going to use this method to shift some credits to my alt account but other commanders beat me to it 😆

OK, so with the free unlock of that thngamajick neutraliser and thingamajick caustic launcher, I want to try this goid thingy which I have ZERO xp in.

Is there a good guide to recommend?

Thanks.
Perfect timing.

I took a brake and am out gathering mats right now, I didn't remember how explosive they can be when run over, I had my SRV thrown 10m off the surface and landed on my nose. Rather disconcerting.
Those typos can sometimes be quite disorienting... In particular for a sleep deprived brain that runs low on fuel.
I sat here a minute or two wondering what the heck you would want with a brake while collecting materials...
Then, while is still was hoping that this brake wouldn't cause any issues for someone who might be missing it🤦‍♀️, my brain finally got up to speed, fast enough to shift into second gear.💫 This made me realize what you actually meant. You took a break (pausing) whatever you had done previously to collect some mats.

Yeah, getting blown off the surface of a planet isn't nice. In particular if it was done by a geyser you didn't notice before.😨

Ha, I do that occasionally (or more), it was around 5:30 AM here and the coffee was still being brewed (excuses, right?). I'll think of some more later :)

So, I was playing while I was waiting on the coffee right after that post and drove over a piece of phosphorous and got launched 40m (120ish feet) in to space.

I'm in the same case, never ever touched a thargoids hair so far, but I'm completely considering a half backed low budget AX build to go and see that myself. I'm curious what are the odds to sneak around in such a case!

Perfect timing.

Thanks for that!

Yeah, go for it. I did all the unlocks way back at the beginning -- visited the Titan and messed around a bit. It was frankly a big pain.

Then I lost interest, but it was worth going at least once or twice just to experience it.

It's now become easier, so I say do it.

A couple pics I took, to encourage you:

Thanks. I may not feel the passion to stick with it for days, but as you say, for the sake of experience and see new things, like thargo tourism and pay attention to the work devs have done on it.

Oh, I totally buy that. After all, even Raktajino wouldn't help my brain to work better...

Yikes. Haven't had that happen to me, yet. Materials disappearing if I should happen to touch them with one of the wheels, yes. But a violent disintegration? Still on my (not) to-do list...

Yeah, I'm thinking about visiting some Thargoid places, too, now that the modules are freely available.

But I'm not sure about which ship to take there. I'm not really interested in fighting, more like "sightseeing" and hopefully survive, take some pictures or even some videos.

EDIT: Holy smokes. That was quick.

If you're gonna visit, tomorrow sounds like a good time to do so :)

Titan Taranis appears to be malfunctioning.

Complete catastrophic failure predicted at approximately 18:55 UTC Saturday 2nd March.

Maelstrom pushback wave has ceased operation.

Pilots are encouraged to head to Hyades Sector FB-N B7-6 to witness humanity's finest hour!
