Spaceship's annual budget is quite a bit larger than SC's total pledge receipts, though.

Roberts and Musk are running the same scam.
Well, one of them delivered a full-fidelity spaceflight reality with all-newtonian (and more) physics.
Granted, he only achieved that by having underlings wise and strong enough to keep him from interfering with development. Having a selection of companies to play with possibly helped.
Maybe Chris should have directed a new movie while someone else led the Star Citizen project :)

Roberts (2015): "By the end of this year, backers will have everything they originally pledged for, plus a lot more."

Musk (2017): "November or December of this year, we should be able to go from a parking lot in California to a parking lot in New York, no controls touched at any point during the entire journey."

Roberts (2018): "...we are looking to 2020 to release Squadron, in about Q3 or Q4."

Musk (2019): "I feel very confident predicting autonomous robotaxis for Tesla next year...at a reliability level that we would consider uh that no one needs to pay attention meaning you could go to sleep in your car...."

Same scam.

So before Chris rudely said his same old bobbins, I was looking at their latest, greatest SQ42 addition for the PU:

Signed off by Chris himself, the latest face rework v4.5 has finally introduced Building Blocks. And silly hair colours. And an actual way to save your character.

Truly, gaming is blessed.

(I couldn't help but notice that all the guys who made / presented it were yet again student hires, to a dev. Sure hope it won't need another rework 😳)
Meanwhile...

I didn't notice this bit from the letter but it was pointed out to me on the refunds sub:

"To facilitate this, I am pleased to share that our very own Rich Tyrer will be taking on a new role as Senior Game Director, overseeing both the development of Star Citizen and Squadron 42 alongside me. [...] Working in tandem, Rich and I will continue to establish the strategic vision to bring to life the intended Star Citizen gameplay experience."

So, he joined CIG in 2019 and has worked on games such as Assassins Creed and Legacy of Kain. Joined CIG to work on SQ42.

Looks like he's been promoted.

I wonder if Chris promoted him or someone (Calder?) had him promoted to work "alongside" Chris, to get stuff done.

I think my take-away from the last few days is:

Get SQ42 out the door, with good sales, or daddy publisher wants his money back.

(Probably with a 'SC must be only a year from successful launch' stipulation too. But more fool them if they're betting on that ;))
It is quite impressive that neither the subreddit nor Spectrum have yet acknowledged the uk financials Calder related info and consequences. Not even Mike’s Discord.

Its quite clear at this point none of them want to know how their money is being spent (or anyone who does raise it is getting their thread nuked by mods).

Meanwhile on FD's forums we get 50 page threadnaughts on FD's financials.

Ladies and Gentlemen and fellow Sandwiches, I feel the time for keeping your lulzbuckets not only within reach, but available for immediate grasp is close at hand.

What is Genuine Roberts waffling on about? Where is this imagined progress? Where are the games?
Oh ye of little faith. Did you not hear Chris tell us everything at citcon was coming this year?

I think we should all just shut our eyes and ears, and believe...
