I am much the same I lost the compulsion to drive for ranks at Elite, I still do stuff that gains rank but I am unimpressed by the rank extensions.See the other two ranks? You can get up to Elite V.
Honestly, I really don't care anymore. There are absolutely NO bonuses to any role for reaching Elite. You get a ridiculous 2.5% discount, a decal, and bragging rights. That's it. Seriously, I get better rewards from my corner pizza place. OTOH, I am a completist. No matter how deep in the back on my head it's stored, unfinished stuff bothers me.
However, I think it would be a great incentive/opportunity for the low to mid-level player to get into Titan combat if they could gain extra combat rank for it. Just saying.
Also unaware of that, the heat sinks get all the fun because they are much less niche so get to more parties in more places.well oil be did not notice its under misc ta very muchos just added to voice attack now if i just had one for the caustic sinks id be a very happy chappie
why do plain ones (under cooling) get all the fun?
Cruel and unusual punishment making people by that pirate ship.In all likelihood, they will introduce new exciting carapace kits!
Asp Scout
I would love these though the Hauler might look a little overwhelmed by it all, as an aside I would still love to see the Survey kit for the Hauler with a big scanner dish on top spinning round.Type 7
Hauler
I have an AX Hauler, I'd love the carapace kit, overwhelmed or otherwise!I would love these though the Hauler might look a little overwhelmed by it all
I searched for the proud announcement from the 'first' player (assuming that every player has an Inara account) to get Elite V in all categories, but my search-fu failed me, but I do recall it wasn't long after the Elite V ranks were added!
I thought it was @MUSKETEER who was first to get Elite V in all categories.Found it! (Had to look for my own posts mentioning 'V', as I knew I had commented)
I Achieved 5x Elite V But Frontier Don't Care About It !
That took my months to achieve this. I'm on rage because frontier did not care about what i did. I got 1.9k upvotes on reddit but no one care about on FRONTIER ! I am drunk at the moment. I just want a simple congratulations from devs. I FINISHED ODYSSEY LITERALLY FINISHED. 5x Elite V DONE...forums.frontier.co.uk
I'd forgotten thet the original poster had only 5 of 6I thought it was @MUSKETEER who was first to get Elite V in all categories.
The dude from the linked thread claimed to have been the first on all but CQC, basically aaying "I beat Odyssey". I remember that thread well, shows what it does to one's mind if you grind because you expect a reward at the end. Kind of reminds me of that content creator who did grind to upgrade every weapon and suit as fast as possible, and then complained they were burned out and blamed Frontier and the game for it.I thought it was @MUSKETEER who was first to get Elite V in all categories.
And almost certainly will be the only person to ever do so given just how long it takes to get even one Elite rank in CQC.I thought it was @MUSKETEER who was first to get Elite V in all categories.
Ah technical writing class, how I never missed thee.Ok but is it a week before meltdown or week before explosion? Paul pls, needs clarification ><°
It would be fun to have a John Jameson Day, where we try to zero the core with a wing of only cobras.Doable in a Cobra III, just not as efficient as a medium ship.
a great and important ranking that include great players like me
Especially in exploration, where you "explore" by using list of already discovered worldsKnowledge about some mechanics is the real prize.

IMO, they could have some special decals in addition to the Elite and 3 x Elite that they do give out.I got 6 x Elite V and asked for no reward / expected none.
Although if they fixed CQC bugs it would be nice.
in their defense, they posted that thread while being drunk. Although the feeling of being entitled to a reward probably came before the inebriation.I got 6 x Elite V and asked for no reward / expected none.

Honestly Paul, I don't really feel mad or frustrated if you give the rewards out to everyone. For me the fun of actually doing it is reward enough. I mean if you WANT to fix the rewards you can, but don't break the game or potentially cause another bug trying to do it. I'd rather everyone just participate in the fun of it.Greetings Commanders!
The Titan Leigong has been reduced to a few smoldering clouds of caustic doom after your incredibly successful military campaign! That's two Titans down, which is an amazing accomplishment!
Whilst we had introduced a number of improvements to resolve issues with bugged Titan instances we are aware that some of you did continue to encounter them. For that reason we have decided to change how rewards would be given out on this occasion. For Titan Leigong we will be gifting the cosmetic rewards to everyone who jumped into HIP 8887 within the week before meltdown began, regardless of damage done to the Titan or credits earned. We are working hard to ensure that issues with Titan instances will be resolved for future battles.
Onto the rewards!
As mentioned previously, Titan rewards are sequential so the more Titans you are engaged in taking down the more you will unlock different rewards. If you took part in taking down Taranis and took part in taking down Leigong you will receive the following:

If this was your first Titan you will receive the rewards listed in here.
For future Titan encounters remember that you need to do the following to unlock the cosmetic rewards:
1) Have done damage to the heat core of a Titan within one week prior to it going into meltdown.
2) You need to have earned a minimum of 2M credits from hitting the core within this time (You earn less credits from the Titan when they still need weakening and have a high damage resistance)
Don't forget you also receive Arx from taking down hearts and gain more if you are a top contributor.
Titans are stronger the more systems they control. If you want to make them vulnerable (And increase the lovely credits payouts) then be sure to work together to take over their controlled systems before challenging the Titan directly!
Badges and decals are great but to be honest as i play in Solo it doesn't really matter, who's going to see themHonestly Paul, I don't really feel mad or frustrated if you give the rewards out to everyone. For me the fun of actually doing it is reward enough. I mean if you WANT to fix the rewards you can, but don't break the game or potentially cause another bug trying to do it. Though if you are taking ideas, I wish Fdev would bring back decal rewards for CGs as a thing again, those are cool. They are like a badge of honor for participating in a particular CG.
Either that, or introduce some kind of badge system for the game, where when a Cmdr pulls up another Cmdrs "infocard" his badges are displayed on a tab. This is an idea from one of my favorite MMOs back int he day, City of Heroes. Where the player card, had their character info, what class they played, a short self typed biography (which was often used to tell their origin story.) and the badge tab to see what achievements they've actually earned, places they've been and so on. So when you pulled up a Players infocard and saw their badgecase was just full of a variety of exploration , achievement, kill and accolades badges. You knew these people played the heck out of the game.
I would love to see something like that for Elite, exploration badges for anyone who goes to a particularly famous or infamous place, achievement badges for attaining certain acts, kill badges self-explanitory. History badges, for perhaps scanning certain lore beacons and reading about the story of them. And of course Accolades badges, which were awarded when you achieved the prerequisites they required, which was often a combination of the other badges.
In other words, something like on Inara.cz. They have badges on their profiles for doing various things.
