So what does count ?
It would be nice to get some clarification from someone at fdev, ( hint, hint )I have no idea what exactly would constitute as a "critical update". I suppose anything that prevents Legacy from being playable. Other than that, consider Legacy as is.
We are the main game. Odyssey split off from us.It's been clarified often enough. Legacy will not receive any content updates, it will stay the way it was when it was split off from the live game.

Elite Dangerous Update 14 and Beyond: Live and Legacy Modes - Elite Dangerous
Greetings Commanders. In our Access to 4.0 post from August, we mentioned that future content would only be available to players on the 4.0 framewo...www.elitedangerous.com
In general, "critical update" means "Without this, the thing fails to function at all".Does the upcoming changes to powerplay count as a critical update to legacy ?
Technically it's still true. Just not for console.Yes - it is a lie. Been pointed out to them a few times![]()
That's where it's from, and Server Maintenance doesn't count as contentTechnically it's still true. Just not for console.
Agreed. It's bad form.Well, FDev should at least stop advertising the Elite on Consoles as being a "Living Game [...] that grows and expands with new features and content" when it actually is having the Legacy status, with no new features or new content expected to come to consoles.
Which will probably lead to nothing except maybe the advertising being adjusted. For the foreseable future at least, development for consoles has ceased to be.Eventually someone is bound to be miffed about it so much to file a complaint for false advertising.
That would be bad.
