I’ve been through a mix of emotions these past minutes. Seeing the trailer on instagram I was shocked, as I expected a small teaser at best. Frontier does a good job of tricking us again.
I was then surprised that this is an animal pack but relieved to see we’re also getting scenery. Absolutely amazing!
Judging the pack for what it is, I think it’s great for some reasons:
I for one am excited and think the pack is excellent. HOWEVER, I do note that I’d be extremely disappointed if this is indeed the final pack because:

Judging the pack for what it is, I think it’s great for some reasons:
- Many people have asked for a petting zoo DLC and petting zoos are essential to zoos in my opinion. It’s about time we have one.
- Moreover, this is the most novel pack since Aquatic when it comes to gameplay. Even if the animals are ‘clones’, petting zoos are totally different from anything else that you have in zoos.
- We are finally getting some new scenery that’s not too thematic, but more generic zoo stuff. First time since Conservation.
- Some of the species like the alpaca and highland cow are particularly great picks as they kan equally be kept in other sections of the zoo.
- Chickens!

- We miss some very essential species, and not getting more waterfowl is a waste of efforts after we have the swan.
- This pack is perfect to boost revenue and bring something new, but it wouldn’t make sense to do something this novel in the end of the run. It’s like coming with flying birds and then stopping. After something this novel, there better be more.

Yep, it’s actually not even close to an overall good pack. Even the roster of domestics isn’t what was wanted. The only domestic I’d genuinely want was the Nigerian Dwarf goat.
Just a reminder that the faces behind the social media accounts aren’t the people who decided this pack, these animals, or anything.
The people who worked on the models, the trailers, the animations, etc were told to make a pack like this.
Not to mention this is just a video game. A video game where it’s people’s jobs to make these animals for you.

Fair, but who did make the decisions? Because I need to have a long sit down conversation with them…
It’s “just a game”, but it’s been outstanding for 5 years. This is abysmal.

I totally did not see this comming. I am excited for the petting/feeding mechanic and the Highland Cow was the species I hoped for in case we would get a DLC like this.
I appriciate it for being something new and unique as a concept but with the depressing state of South American roster I surely hope this is not our last DLC.

Yeah, like always the content creators did a great job.
Still, this is the only place to vent one’s disappointment for the long wait for a lackluster roster in what could realistically be the final pack.
Yes, agree, the animals will, as always, be really fantastically done - I have no issues with the models - it’s the choice of animals that’s awful, especially given the gaps in the current roster. I genuinely feel it would be quite hard to come up with a worse list of choices.
I don’t care what anyone says. While this pack wasn’t my most anticipated one, I’m still gonna accept what we get. I’m genuinely excited!

They did that though in terms of "won't there be any more DLCs for Planet Zoo?"
In all honesty, the Eurasia Pack would have been a better farewell pack than this... so maybe it's wishful thinking, but I have a hard time believing they will actually send us off with this.
If so, this member of the community is not happy with Frontier. If they, however, decide, to relase two or three more packs now simultanously for PC and Console, this member of the community will be very happy.
Or, if they throw in this filler pack to work harder on a big big bird pack. And I mean more than 10 species big.
Sorry to excuse you, can anyone tell me why a domestic chicken can have a clear species name, but a takin cannot be clearly labeled as a Sichuan takin?
Now that i have think about this pack for a while, here my two cents:
-The chicken, cattle and donkey are perfect. Would I swap the highland for a longhorn? Yeah, but highland was more popular, so whatever.
-Mixed feelings about the goat, pig and sheep, not because i don't want these species just because i didn't like the breeds choices, with the african pygmy goat and kunekune being my choices, while i don't really know if the sheep should be a rabbit or some other breed such as jacob or a oceania breed, but im sure i have this feeling because i've never heard about this breed before.
-Alpaca is the only one that I would change to something else, mainly because it collides with the llama in usage, so I would change it to a guinea pig.
-The pieces sound great, better than a standard exhibit animal at least.
Overally, it's a solid pack, could be miles better, but the way it is, it's fine.

I appreciate I'm probably in the minority, reading some of the comments on here, but I'm actually really pleased about this! A large part of the community has been wanting a petting zoo pack for a while now. My only disappointment is no duck. I really wanted a duck to swim around with the swans. Then it would have been perfect!
