Python 2, why so long a base jump range

The base jump range on the new python is crazy long. What am i not understanding?

traditional ship balance:

combat ship, takes 30 jumps to cross the bubble

exploration ship takes 3 jumps to cross the bubble

new python 2 (combat focused ship), if it starts a jump in the bubble it overshoots the bubble entirely and ends up in Colonia?

traditional ship balance:
It's been a while since this was the case. My FDL with a class 4 jump booster does 31LY, my Python 2 without a booster does a bit less. 30 i think.

It's about what people expect now that exploration ships can do crazy jumps. It makes the bubble feel quite small, but it is what it is.

I've a jump range of 37.94 Ly in my Viper Mk IV (less of course if loaded etc ) so this P2 is pretty decent in range terms I guess but it's to be expected right?

S!

Fuel tank is small, anyway.. isn't a ship designed for travel
Yeah, it feels like the alliance grasshoppers. No real point in getting nuts on the FSD range because it doesn't have the fuel to get more than 3 jumps anyway. Took it out to do some High CZs and found it pretty enjoyable to fight in. Looks like I'll probably retire the Chief. Rails plus 4 MCs chews through power plants with impressive ease. I think this one ship would work nice getting to ground CZs, doing settlement raids and other work and fighting in space. But the internals are pretty poor for trying to get anything cargo related done.

I'll have to fit one up for PvP type stuff too but god I almost lose all motivation thinking about mats and the engineer shuffle.
