DLC18 discussion and predictions

Switching it up, what would be some updates you like to see in the next, potentially last pack?

I'm over the moon as my most desired feature - petting zoo interactions via the animal encounters - just got in.

Playgrounds, exhibit boxes being able to house multiple species - the tree frogs in particular, and maybe a new transport ride?
I think they've been nailing the updates. Now I'd just more of many of the things we already have in the game.

More enrichment items as a priority

More food shops
selling plant based / healthy options

More exhibit box shapes - 2 sized spheres, 1 rectangle, 1 smaller sized and 1 larger sized box

More barriers - a flexicolour rock wall and a rustic farm fence

More paths (null elevated path specifically)

More interactive guest education items - museum pieces, interactive education displays etc

That and I also like the ideas that others have thrown out of zookeeper bonding, animal ambassadors and animal herding patterns.

Some of my preferences (some are unrealistic but it’s my fantasy world)
  • An exhibit overhaul to allow for different sizes and shapes and to accommodate rodents or small mammals (tamarin??)
  • Hanging enrichment feeders or more elevated feeders.
  • Koi???? that is all.
  • Giraffe feeding experience
  • Better mesh barriers or modular mesh habitats for all the birds we are about to get in the next DLC.
  • Null staff paths and gates.
  • Maps

We’re all gonna cry when the only other bird we get is a second kiwi.
Me sneaking out of Frontier after adding kiwi pukupuku bc I thought it would be funny:

Seriously though I highly doubt that would ever actually happen. Whenever they want an “easy clone” it’s almost never a bird lmao. Instead we’ll get another caiman or our billionth antelope taking the spot of a bird entirely 💀

Some crazy people have even suggested the ibis for the WTE
How is that crazy? They are a typical aviary bird. Just because they have long legs and a long neck doesn't mean they do the same thing as flamingos or cranes. I don't think I've ever seen them outside of an aviary, and every time I have seen them they're usually perched on something high that they, you know, flew to. The pool of potential habitat birds isn't as large as this community likes to imagine. It pretty much boils down to 'birds that walk a lot' (ratites, pheasants, flamingos, cranes) and 'birds that swim a lot' (penguins, anseriformes). There is a reason we haven't yet received any 'birds that fly a lot' (parrots, raptors, pigeons, and yes, even ibises).

IMO the ibis is a conceivable habitat animal but it's right on the line.

It's not even that. Cats are almost always kept in covered enclosures. With that reasoning, then cats should be WEs as well. So should all primates, because I've never seen gibbons in open air enclosures...

The ibis will work entirely perfect as a flamingo-like animal

Well they gave us swans which definitely fly (I live in an area of like 1000 swans and they for sure fly plenty) so I think ibis, spoonbills etc could work as non-flying habitat birds. I'd prefer one of these over a pheasant or (I know, I know, I hate to say it) duck or rhea. I'd just like some colourful, exotic birds.

And an owl. We don't talk about owls enough. I don't even mean the burrowing owl. All the zoos/wildlife parks I've been to have a collection of owls and they're super interesting. They usually get flown behind the scenes but are just sleepy/perching when on view.

HAHAHAHAHA.

My boy, I've been collecting Star Wars, Harry Potter, and Jurassic Park since 2001.
Gravy, I was in 2004, but 2013 is when I started actually keeping the sets intact🤣
Still have my 2009 Indiana Jones figs. You have a Steven Spielberg minifig? One of the coolest minifigs ever to exist, I managed to snag one

BURROWING OWL FTW.
