Hello Nazzeth,

For a test, please switch the TCE download server to Spanish/EDSM. My provider told me that there appears to be a problem with this site and they are currently investigating the problem.

Both Files downloaded successfully with no issues. The speed wasn't fantastic on the EDSM link, but it did finish.
I also confirmed both files could be extracted (using 7z) so their isn't any corruption with the archives.

Windows is up-to-date as of 1.5 hours ago when it did its daily check.
Its Windows 11 Home. Version 23H2 Build 22631.3593

Hmm... thanks for the test.

You can bypass the problem by placing both files unextracted into the \DUMP folder of TCE and creating an additional file called "process.log", containing only a 1.
TCE-Relay detecting the process.log file when started, bypasses the download and starts decrypting the files until I find a solution.

I can't help you with more at the moment!

Thanks for the work around. I've applied that now, and it has progressed. It's almost 4am here though so I'll let it run and check it in a few hours.

Thanks for all the help.

a few minor bugs ive noticed. one is the TCE says that the type 9-heavy is a small landing pad requirement, and number two is it keep re-opening /launching the program even when i close it.
also the EDMC service seems to be "down" and i dont know how to get that back running again. i have the connector and i have it running before i run TCE

What versions of EDMC and TCE are you using?

Also recommend for TCE issues you use the "report bug" function in TCE so that eventure gets your logs.

As Rixxan correctly stated, please create a proper bug report and send it to me. I will try to recreate and fix it.
Thanks in advance!

With the help of Death Bacon, I was able to identify a problem with the pad size displayed and used on ships, which can occur after starting TCE.
This problem will be fixed with the next update.

To temporarily work around the problem, it is necessary to use the Connect button in the middle of the interface once in the game and docked at a station.
After that, the correct size will be displayed and used again. You can check that with the help of the Personal panel > Current Ship tab.

Hi Eventure,

I hope you can help, whenever I start TCE it gets to 20% loading then TCE stops responding. I’ve discovered that if I do a repair it keeps finding errors in my registered market database, once its repaired it TCE seems to work fine until I exit and load it up again then I have to do a repair again. I've sent a mail with an attached report.

Thank you for your report, I have found the issue!
Please activate the new unkown star system option in TCE-Relay to bypass the problem for the moment, unitl a fix arrives.
Thereafter you can deactive the feature again.

  • Fixed a potential issue where a corrupted database for registered markets was created during gameplay when automatically updating databases on the fly via TCE-Relay.

Hello everyone,
I have good news from my host provider that the problems with downloading via my TCE server using TCE Relay have finally been resolved.
I would like to ask everyone who has had problems so far to switch the server in TCE Relay back to TCE to confirm that the download is now working properly.

I would be delighted to hear back from you!

Hi Eventure
I have been away for a while and not able to get to my ED game computer. I am a long-time supporter of TCE and have followed the many discussions along with the changes that you have had to make, to keep TCE running.
I'm back for a little while and thought I'd see how TCE is working.

I started the service and it took about an hour to get itself up to date. Maybe my selections on what to do weren't so good.

I have a couple of questions (probably more to follow :) )

  1. Is that all I need to do to make it run?
  2. Do I have to start this service every time and wait for it to download everything and then unpack it all?
  3. I have always had TCE running on my main drive (c:) TCE is now 12 GB - can I move this to another drive that is a lot bigger?
Thank you so much for keeping TCE going (y)

Hi Scotty113,

the latest addition to TCE is the TCE Relay Tray App, which prepares crowdsourced data for TCE. You can access the setup either by right-clicking the tray icon or from the TCE launcher on the "Extension" tab. There you can select the number of cores to use to process the data. The more you choose, the faster the data will be extracted. I usually use the maximum, as not all cores are fully utilized.

Now to your questions:
1. Yes, that would be all that is needed to update your databases.

2. You can start the service manually in the launcher repeatedly, but you can also let TCE Relay perform the update automatically. To do this, set the update management to "Automatic". Then the data will be updated while you play. TCE will keep you informed of the progress.
It would also be possible to let TCE Relay start with Windows. If you don't play immediately right after starting Windows, TCE-Relay will prepare the data in the background. This will make the update of your data much quicker when starting TCE.

3. You can move TCE to another drive, but you will then have to adjust the path information in the TCE.config (database and cartography path) and in the TCE-Relay.config in the TCE-Relay subfolder accordingly. That would be the easiest way, but you can also reinstall TCE on the other drive and import the data from the old installation folder (Launcher > Database tab).

If you have any further questions, just ask!
