This looks like a utility vehicle. Something that would work on construction site, like a space crane or tug boat or something. It certainly doesn't look like it could carry a lot of internal cargo.I’m surprised nobody’s posted something yet, or maybe they did somewhere else and I didn’t see it.
What do you all think of her?
Looks nice, has a Star Wars-y smuggling adventure vibe for sure.

The cockpit is definitely Lakon. It definitely doesn't look Elite
It looks like it drew inspiration from a bunch of stuff from other universes like Star Wars (U-Wing), Scam Citizen and maybe Starfield too, but nothing from Elite
And btw, where it was shown?
The major problem with the T7 is that it's Large pad. For this reason the Python has been the go-to trader simply due to the number of places you can't go in anything bigger. There was no problem with the T7, and still isn't. At one point it was one of many ships that fitted a role due to it's price. Then one day credits became a total non-issue and it didn't make sense to not fly an Anaconda for everything, since anyone could get one in an hour or two.
Sure, and when creds mattered it was a critical stepping stone for players in their journey to learn the ships and play the game. Now though, get whichever ship you want pretty much immediately. Or even pay for it. No point in the T7 anymore, but there was. It's definitely not the first time Frontier have invalidated their own game with their choices. The major problem with the T7 is that it's Large pad. This ship will thrive or wither on the cargo bay's comparison to the Python.
I don't immediately think Lakon when I see the Chiefs either though. For me EDs design language was chunky and geometric- what I think the problem for me here is that the greebles generally don't say 'Lakon'. I can clearly see that in all lineages of ships- ZP has very distinct cues, so does Core, Gut too.
I can understand though this is a 'clean sheet' because everything is around the new SCO but.....by inner autist is making noises.
Should block less of the view than the Kraits I reckon. When I first saw the cockpit position with regards the 'prongs' I thought that's going to block a lot of your LoS.
Medium pad is good, looking forward to seeing it in game.
The issue would be in combat. If I'm fighting in the T9 the opposing ship will usually be in one of the top corners of the view. Right about where these prongs look to be. So I hope it's a fair bit more manoeuvrable than the T9...Should block less of the view than the Kraits I reckon.
Agreed - and of course the Kraits look extremely Lakon despite being changed at the last minute to Faulcon...What? It basically looks like bulkier Krait.
Indeed, I wonder where this ship is going to land:i wonder where this leaves the type 7 as it requires a large pad for only 16 tons more cargo than a python, really hope it dethrones the python as the medium hauler but then also the type 7 should get a size 7 cargo rack at least
True, although for me those lines of ships came from the DBX and S.I don't immediately think Lakon when I see the Chiefs either though.
This was exactly running through my headIt looks like a Descent Freespace shivan ship. It's not Elite, but it will be fun nontheless. Go go game director Zac.
Indeed, I wonder where this ship is going to land:
Python 294t max
Type 8?
T7 310t max
Unless it gets a way better jump range than a Python (as I don't expect this to have better hardpoints or shield multiplier) isn't going that much far.
I'd have more likely welcomed a 450-500t L-pad with better range, agility and higher shield multiplier than a T9
If T8 gets like 350t it will be clumsier and have a shorter range than a T7 for sure (unless it breaks the scale and then we might sell all the T7s).
It's M very likely indeed... but even having 350t would you swap that vs. a Python?Looks smaller than T7, so it doesnt look like a large pad ship
I would assume it will bring some competition to Python

Imho to be a real competitor it should have a max 392t cargo, allowing the owner to run 2x196t missions (the largest quantity for A to B deliveries).
The Kraits have had similar arms since forever, so I don't really see what's so "off" about this design. The main reason is it does not 'feel' like an ED ship to me aesthetically- this is very much more Eve or Star Citizen. The only cues are the lakon cockpit and the landing legs- everything else (to me) just feels 'off'.
