Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Rumor: Some of those who were using the exploit that led to suspensions were allegedly selling the credits for real world money.

And this is why some online games make it hard for players to directly trade money, to stop this sort of thing.

Here's a cheeky post under that Asmon vid:

Fun fact, there are modders and hackers in the Star Citizen that could care less. CIG knows this and they like ever other game dev can't do anything about it. They will continue to CASH GRAB as much as possible until this crap shoot hits critical mass and totaly fails. I know AUECs printers and modders personally. You'd be really stupid to think devs that can't debug their own game design can accomplish network server meshing, or network security for that matter. A beautiful crap storm it is indeed.

:LOL:That's a good point actually. On the other hand banning is pretty simple. CIG doesn't really need to do more. Gold sellers boost the sales and the narration of a big game and community - once they begin to cut into the meat just cull the herd.

It's not a rumour...random eejits have been selling mass amounts of aUEC on Ebay for years...and even more random eejits have been buying it for years. Just do a search on Ebay for star citizen aUEC :)

Some of them have been actually even running ads in YouTube for it! Must be profitable enough to justify the expense.

The maths is pretty simple...if 100 eejits buy $20 worth of aUEC each...

Like I said, this has been going on for many years...as long as I can remember anyway. Back when we used to get wiped every patch, I used to give millions away to newbies during the last week of the outgoing patch...guess I was too stupid to sell them on Ebay :D

CIG banned a ton of us for pvping summit and shroud. I still have a ban until June 30th (over 60 day ban) with no reason. No proof. Just a 'you pvped near a streamer and you are banned'. The funny thing is both of those streamers crap on star citizen because it is a terrible tech demo and not a game. The only time Summit ever smiled is when he was killed by Jean Girard. These devs are going to end up in jail for fraud.

Although some of it has that specific SC tang...

im not gonna lie i spent 800 dollars on the game literally because my friend played it has its charm but not worth that kind of money. the paywall and the length of time its been to develop is ridiculous. also not to mention 30ks which can ruin an entire days worth of progress. for what 800 dollars to play a broken game. yea im glad im out and didnt spend more then that lol.

I am like that man, but I spent $2500, and now I have given up. I am saving my money to buy a car and invest it instead.

I spent ~$600 on the game and ships, and regret every penny spent. Thank god for the “grey markets” allowing for resale of you in-game assets. Still have a chance to get at least some of this back.

I am ashamed to have spent $2000 on this game. Never paid for crap in league, wow, or anything like that so I guess i'm way behind a ton of people in being a loser. Can't imagine paying 48k for a game, can't imagine paying $48 even for anything in this and it used to be my favorite genre.

As someone that has spent over 15k, is it worth it? I dont know yet, i hope so. I played eve since alpha, and if i would have been able to spend this kind of money to have lifetime insurance for my ships i would have.

Have to admit there's some nice looking ships there. Pioneer looks like it'll be good as an anti-grav with the gray bit on the side being an elevator to load cargo onto the flat bed. I'll be stealing that design and 3d print it for my miniature games. Wow! I got something out of Star Citizen without even spending money on it, really is a BDSSE.

It's less good as a base-building ship seemingly ;)

More of an imaginary paperweight currently...
