Indra now alone... but not vulnerable until Thursday?

As of Saturday afternoon, Ttian Indra sits alone, with no controlled systems to it's name. Yet it seems we have to wait until Thursday until the servers catch up and relaise that it should be vulnerable to direct attack. Which feels very odd and rather demotivating.

Hoping that FDev can/will flick the switch a bit sooner...

Just noticed lack of activity and lack of movement at Indra, and just came here to check......
Cant quite remember what happened with the others; in-game message came first, then attack?

(if so glad i only got 1mil in bonds, i'll stop there and wait)

Titan vulnerability will update on the Thargsday tick, once any updates are done it's go time, and we will likely have an in game message waiting for us.

And you may as well get another million to secure your rewards in case it goes down quick and you can't get on for any reason.

The Thursday tick has always been the timer of the Thargoids war. How has this taken you by surprise now?
True, though in some ways it's more the exception than the rule by now - defence of systems to 100% takes effect immediately, the Titan itself takes damage and explodes in real-time, so there's no obvious reason that the vulnerability status couldn't update the moment the 4th Control system is retaken.

If vulnerability would be immediately reflected, the Thursday FOMO would not happen at all. I think that the idea never was to minimize this, but to maximize it. And this is exactly what happened with the new changes: chances are high that vulnerability will switch over from maximum to minimum in just one day. This effectively reduces the 1-week window to a 2-day window, giving Thursday (and part of Friday) a very high user count. Should look impressive on the steam charts, and will maybe also generate some cool headlines like "Elite Dangerous peeks at all-time-high of 30000 concurrent players". This should also silence any nay-sayer worried about the ARX strategy alienating the player base, giving incentive to double-down on that approach. Clever folks indeed.

So, basically, attack now. Any groups going in as teams? I'm in AXI, but not a core member by any stretch of the imagination. From a near outsiders perspective, nothing seems to be happening right now.

People have been wondering why Winters had not taken office yet. She knows what's coming for the president.

I think you're attributing far more foresight to FDev's designs than they have actually displayed in reality. The weekly update on Thursdays is something that was in all likelihood baked in to the software architecture from early on.

Vulnerability has always changed from Wednesday to Thursday, ever since we were able to attack Titans. The latest patch hasn't made it happen, all the patch has done is further simplified it so 3 systems or less = vulnerable and 4 or more = still very tough, which isn't that big a change from how it was measured before.

Switching vulnerability over instantly is actually anti-player : by now the Titan would be gone and anyone not paying exact attention would be out of luck - and complaining. as they will anyway next Monday.

The way it is currently anyone can turn up from now to get the rewards. So in essence we get an extra 4 days for those who won't be playing in the days after Thursday. Still not ideal - there's nothing in-game so you still have to be paying some attention - but better than the OPs suggestion of basically reducing the window to a couple of days*.

* yes, people could just tag the Titan in the preceding days with 'immediate vulnerability', but if the Titan just flips at an arbitrary time of the week this is harder to predict.

Once it becomes vulnerable I don't think it will last long. I'm wondering if it's worth putting in some "damage" now in case I can't play on the weekend; would that get me the decal?

2M today gives you the decal if it is destroyed by Sunday.
2M tomorrow gives you up to Monday.
..............rinse/repeat..............any q's?

EDIT Just done some runs and it is very aggro'ed, only getting +/-170,000 per core (hitting 4 vents - tried 5 but was too slow getting to the core so was worse for me :censored: ), as it is still very heavilly defended.
It will be much easier after Thursday with myself getting +/_600,000 per core hit (IIRC) in previous Titans when 'vulnerable'.
But I can't play Fri or Sat so doing it now out of necessity, as it (in my opinion) will go by Sat or even Friday - most (well, AX) players are waiting for this as the remaining Titan's will be very much harder (unless things change - handwavium, new inventions, new discoveries, etc.)

Yep, I hit Hadad on the Tuesday I think, and got the rewards fine. Probably going to do the same with Indra.
Allowed me to get a decent Carrier spot at Indra on the Wednesday and watch Hadad go down on the DCoH site whilst having tea with my family.

Just got done hitting Indra in Open for over 2mil. I'm not planning to be anywhere special over the next few days, but I thought I'd beat the rush. No glitches, no griefers, and there was always someone bombing the vents so I could focus on striking the core. Good times all round.

A noob question. When you've put some damage on the heat radiator, it withdraws and everything goes nuts, what then? Will things reset after a time, or do you have to leave and return to reinstance?

No, the Titan goes through a red then blue field, then goes back to normal. I hang in the asteroids while my ship cools down and head back in for another loop when I can hear the 'chippy' sound. No need to log back in and if you do you need to get through the acid cloud and pulse again which chews through your caustic sinks very quickly.

Given the way they've re-evaluated vulnerability, I kinda get the feeling they originally didn't plan on players getting them all the way down to zero systems, but rather slowly working them down over a few weeks.
