Pretty much all my ships have Biweaves. Perhaps something of a hangover from cold running smuggling, but never bothered with trying to unlock prismatics. But why would you put a Bi-weave on a ship that's not supposed to engage often in combat?

What's the primary engineering on the biweave for your examples? Because I've used a Corvette with a thermal res/fast charge 7C on a charge enhanced distributor, and while the shields are up, two pips is entirely sufficient to keep it fed while it is not broken. It does slightly limit builds or require some juggling of pips but hardly anything I found a particular bother.A Size 8 PD G5 Charge Enhanced with Super Conduits (the common PD engineering on combat ships) needs Low Draw on 7C BiWeaves to be able to recharge the shields without draining the Sys Cap on 3.5 Pips in SYS (still a bit too tight for my liking, but i've used this setup and it worked, but it really needs a reboot if shields get broken)
That's how I do it as well. At least the large and medium combat ships have biweaves, non-combat ships have the smallest possible prismatic, and small combat ships have prismatics if they can afford them.To survive/evade the occasional combat or even win a random combat - A-rated shields are usually more than adequate.
And i rarely use Prismatics on my Combat ships, most are using BiWeaves, but i do use Prismatics in smaller optionals to save the bigger ones (size 3 prismatic on my cargo/passenger Python for example or size 5 prismatics on my T9 hauler or size 4 Prismatics on my mining Conda)

You know what? You've convinced me to try Low Draw on my Chief's biweaves. In combat I spend 90% of time with my pips 0-2-4 (two overcharged cytos, medium overcharged TV beam, two CG phasing MC-s and one small corrosive MC—the DPS is crazy, and so is the PD draw) and 9% time 2-4-0 for maneuvering. The more recharge I get from a single sys cap load, the better. Good analysis you wrote hereHonestly, Lo Draw is one of those criminally underrated experimentals for all types of shields. 20% less power usage, so you can fit better stuff on your ship. 20% less SYS draw, so you don’t have to babysit SYS unless you need the damage resistance, so you can concentrate more on boosting and shooting.
It would make an excellent ³H barge, probably pretty good ³H laser+subsurface miner, too! Plus the looks is 100% fitting for a mining ship. I only wish it had all medium HP-s for 3 medium mining lasers, 1 subsurface missile, 1 seismic launcher and 1 abrasion blaster for the ultimate do-it-all mining rigI for one am looking forward to being able to fuel my carrier 400t of tritium at a time from outposts with cheaper prices.
For sure we'll give to it a try... better SCO management is a plus, but it hasn't to be clumsy in SC for interdictions (i.e. liike a Type-7 would be great). On a side note, it could make a decent pirate ship, too—not a ship that would be able to destroy other ships in combat so probably not best for PvP piracy (gotta be a credible threat for that), but 3 efficient cytos for taking out shields together with 1 packhound and 2 railguns for disabling thrusters would be pretty decent for PvE "cargo requisitions". Plenty of internal space for booty, class 5 hatchbreakers and 4 collection limpets from a class 3 operations limpet controller, too![]()
At least for interdicting NPC-s the SCO is an "I win" buttonit hasn't to be clumsy in SC for interdictions (i.e. liike a Type-7 would be great).
But as long as you fly it in Horizons you won’t have to look at much of it.Ship is pretty ugly, no buy.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...Ship is pretty ugly, no buy.
Nope, not me... But you are most welcome to go there in my stead. I'm certain you would fit it like a glove! Then this is the thread you're looking for.
How do you know? From that picture of you flying over the planet where you see the sign on the left - DEEP SPACE ?Why can't the T-8 (andP2) sport updated cockpit console bonglys !?? The internals look the same.
