DLC18 discussion and predictions

At this point if they're going to go with a more random/worldwide feel, I'd prefer it to be an urban theme. Being able to build a small city section with the zoo right in the middle of it. Traffic lights, stop signs, more urban doors and windows, things like that.
An Urban pack was my secret favorite idea for a long time, and scenery wise it still is. But even more so than an islands pack for example it really suffered by losing alot of its prime candidates in other packs, red fox, raccon, boar and even the water monitor. There ofcourse are stil possible animals, but honestly i think the raccoon was the make or break animal for this theme.

The urban scenery them could still work pretty well in a temperate pack i guess

I hope u are talking about the scenery... because if our last few animals after all this waiting time turn out to be a pigeon, an oppossum and idk a sewer rat i will literally loose my sanity.

Yeah, but if it’s like a keeper collection pack that revolves around zoos and the point of the game I doubt the building theme will be based on cities, the opposite of a zoo lol

I'm definitely just talking about the scenery. If the pack is something worldwide, well, cities are found all around the world.
Wouldn't that be like against the whole point of Planet Zoo. Yes, Cities could be "needed" for our survival but pushes out animals for farm land and city areas.

Given how about half of all planet zoo youtubers make parking lots, some urban props for parking lots and backstage areas would be a great addition to the game. Doesn't really dig into the cities destroy habitat theme that much.

Yeah thats what im thinking aswell. A city scenery set would have so many application in zoos aswell, cars and street signs for parking lots, manhole cover decals to just sprinkle around you paths.
Admittedley it would heavily cater towards people who like building on the realistic side in contrast to most other scenery packs like tropical and oceania which no doubt also have their uses for realism but the general theme is alot more fantastical. So people who like building more out there stuff probably wouldnt get that much use out of it

I would like car props, street lights and entrance themed props then

Ladies and Gentlemen, could it be possible for a release near this time.. 👀
I know nobody here believes in it, but there is an associated single unknown app now (there is potential to share changelists with unrelated games, but generally that's a whole bunch of unrelated stuff, not just two things. The first changelist of half the DLC apps is shared with base game and the app is unlabelled and not listed under DLC at the time).

Based on previously that should put it maybe about a month away (looking more like early September), so there should be an lqa update this week or the next few weeks, I guess we'll see what happens.

Previous gaps between first, shared changelist and launch:
  • Eurasia: 30th Oct - 13th Dec
  • Arid: 15th May - 20th Jun
  • Grasslands: 25th Oct - 13th Dec
  • Wetlands: 10th Mar - 12th Apr
  • Europe: 13th Aug - 14th Dec
  • North America: 2nd Sep - 4th Oct
  • Africa: 24th May - 22nd June
  • Aquatic: 9th Nov - 8th December
  • Australia: 12th June - 25th August

based on the data the gap between this info and when a pack release could be anywhere form less than a month to over 3 so this really isnt that useful of information
1 had 3 months in between
2 had about 1 month in between
5 had less than a months gap

Thing is non realism people can still use stuff like a car prop so yeah it may be boring to them but it wont be useless whereas the realism obsessed people often find heavily themed stuff useless.
A city pack could still be reasonable but then comes this of what counts are urban life for me it would look something like
  • brushtail possum
  • Australian ibis
  • Australian brushturkey
  • rabbit
  • garden skink
so how do you make a scenery pack that has animals that everyone views as urban life when everyone's urban life is very different and mostly birds

hot take, but I think the spider monkey is the least likely. With its tail I don’t think it can get in game. While it might move somewhat similarly to the gibbon, it’s tail would require its own unique rig.
So do howlers, but everyone ignores the fact howler monkeys just like spider monkeys posses prehensile tail they use all the time for same purpouse spider monkeys do lol.
