Need a new special effect...

After flying the T-8 around, one thing is clear... We need to have a new FSD special effect to make the SCO drives more stable on the older ships.

The SCO really adds to the game and flying the T-8 really shows this to full advantage. It will be a shame if older ships keep floundering around, burning fuel and generating heat like crazy.

I'm really enjoying the T-8.

Careful management of the SCO still makes it viable for every ship. The instability is not an issue as long as you are actually controlling the ship. Certainly better than waiting 1 hour. 🤷‍♂️

better than waiting 1 hour
Flying for 1 hour :) this is different. It is 1 hour of the star field when you can think a little finally. Because modern YT leaves no time for it.
I had 3 trips to the Voyager 1. I cannot say it was too much boring. It was sort of vacation for the brain.

Based on my reading* of other threads about SCO drives it seems there are three factors to getting the best ride in a traditional ship.
  • The ship, some are smoother than others.
  • The drive some are hotter and thirstier than others.
  • Learning (a) that these drives are much more interactive and (b) the best way to interact with them to get the result you wanted.

*So probably wrong.

I like having the option now. All my ships have gotten SCO drives. When I'm focused and trying to get something done, I use it. At other times I just enjoy the slow cruise.

I do too, chasing HGE's is awesome in the T-8 is awesome. I just wish other ships were as stable, I would even trade a bit of jump range for the stability.
