There's a reason why HOPE was in Pandora's box with all the terrible things and remain there even after everything else escaped. Hope stays with you. It's one of those things I think people misunderstood about the ancient Greeks, they tell dark stories as warning and modern people think its an uplifting story.

CIG´s actions would not be the source of that hope, for sure though. I would argue the only thing keeping hope up is the completely unaudited and self declared funds tracker. If that is shown to be grossly distorting reality or is simply removed, hope would vanish fast.

At the core of this has always been the perverse incentive to never finish the game for as long as the money keeps rolling in. And it seemingly does.

So. Why would they stop?

I'm not sure that they're 'making it buggy', I'd say that's much more to do with their inept, unquestionable 'great leader'.

Hard to say how fast hope goes away with this crowd. At best they'll fade away quietly never to mention they've supported it in the first place. How many who lost hope in the project came back to V12 of this discussion to admit they were wrong about the choice of game engine or proceedural generated planet and the thousands of locations each planet will have?

I wonder if the bigget defenders of the project are also the ones who went on record on videos and lost the annonymity to quietly back away.
