Big 5

In Africa there are a group of animals called the big 5 and Planet Zoo only has 3. We are missing the Rhino and the leopard if the people of Frontier understood what I’m saying is we need the last 2 of the big 5 animals. The big 5 are The African Elephant, African Buffalo, African Lion, White or Black Rhino, and The African Leopard. We only have 3 we need the last 2 and that should be an achievement trophy that we unlock in the game. It should say keep the Big 5 in your zoo. I’m sorry I’m just desperate for a leopard I’ll even settle for the Indian Leopard.

You have a good point, and I'm kind of suprised we don't have the big 5 in the game already. First thing I noticed when I first started the game was the absence of White/Black Rhinoceros and Leopard.

Now there's one more of Africa's Big Five left to be in Planet Zoo since both African native rhino species had been accepted/chosen to be in Planet Zoo.

Yeah, and we really didn't need it... just like we really don't need a reskin of the Amur Leopard...
We dont need the amur leopard tbh. We just need Panthera Pardus. The way subspecies are implemented in this game is dumb and inconsistent anyways. We dont need the Formosan Black Bear we need a normal ass asiatic black bear. "Timber Wolves" are actually just Grey Wolves because thats what their in-game range shows, irl Timber Wolves are a specific subspecies from North America, and they should have just had a white color morph why would we need Arctic Wolves?...and why cant any of the animals on the same species interbreed? Not that Im really interested in hybrids being added but theres literally nothing biological stopping a Himalayan Brown Bear and Grizzly bear from making a perfectly normal brown bear....I wish they didnt try to do subspecies at all...now we are stuck with multiple reskins and obscure copies of much more desirable and popular species.

Ok, I agree with some of this, but not every subspecies looks the same. You said it yourself: Arctic wolves and timber wolves. But what about dingos? Should those be a recolor?

Indian leopards look way different than Amur leopards, just like Siberian tigers look different than Bengal tigers. I'm some cases, the whole subspecies thing is weird, like the Formosan black bear. But in others, it's entirely justifiable. Like, if they were to bring a Mexican wolf, I'd rather it be a separate subspecies than lumping it alongside the regular gray wolf

Thats fair but dingoes are aesthetically very different and Id overlook them being the exception but most of the represented subspecies are literally just a fluffier version of another animal with a more narrow range of habitable biomes. The brown bears, the tigers (I would accept an exception for the siberian tiger just because its well-known but having both in the base game was a weird choice), and then the amur leopard if we do eventually get an african leopard...and like I agree with your original sentiment, Id be annoyed if the african leopard was one of the last animals added because there are tons of other animals Id rather have than another reskin...but at the same time some zoo sections (Africa/India) feel incomplete without a leopard that can have a tropical or grassland habitat....but again we dont need more animals from tjose areas. Frontier just made a situation where I'll probably end up dissappointed regardless. Which has been a running theme for them over the last few years.

At this point, my 2 biggest complaints are the wolves and the Formosan black bear. The bear looks identical to the Asian black bear, so why not just change the name and in-game map?
Concerning the wolves, I've wanted the gray wolf to be renamed since day 1, and the Arctic wolf only added to that

Yeah the black bear makes me want to slap someone lol. But unlike the fluffy leopard I can just pretend its a normal asiatic black bear since it shares the same habitats as a typical indian one

Subspecies of leopards were adapted in different biomes. Amur ones' native home was snowy in winter while hardly most of the rest could live that cold.

Idk why that matters in the game. Its still the same species, its the same animal besides having a thicker coat...Id rather sacrifice some realism to be able to use species more freely without having to play sandbox. If anything thats all the more reason to have added an Indian or African Leopard instead since they can live in Savannahs and Jungles...twice as useful as the amur leopard.

Wheres the problem in just putting an amur leopard as a stand in? looks the same anyways and its not like foliage requirement is real, it has next to no effect

It does not look the same. Sorry.

That doesn't justify another leopard at this point though. But the amur leopard is the most visually distinctive of the leopard subspecies. At least the one in game. Idk if irl in their summer coat looks the same as a tropical leopard or not but in the game is clearly the fluffy amur subspecies.

Im still of the opinion that if you cant differentiate them on a glance from a bit away then for the sake of the game its pretty much the same and a perfect stand in.
ofcourse in detail there are differences but that shouldnt stop ya from using the leopard as a leopard
